AIBU?

to think that Ocado have lost the plot?

Last weekend, my shopping went missing, arrived 2 days late - missing crucially all the meat for our BBQ.

Today, I try and order stuff for the weekend, the obvious things that you have on a bank holiday with people coming over, quiche, salad, pimms - and they've sold out of it all!!!

Have been big supporter, but I've had enough! I can't believe they have got it so wrong 2 weeks running.

hurrumph ... >

Well, it's a busy weekend I guess what with the celebrations...

I would've been more organised and got suitable things a few days earlier as opposed to a day before.

How can they have sold out on Wednesday for the coming weekend. That's ridiculous.

That's nice for you CareyFakes. Well, I'd rather fresh food delivered the day before. Shops still open tomorrow. Lucky me. Have a nice day.

YANBU - we had the same last weekend - feck all BBQ stuff left - the whole concept of internet shopping from a warehouse is that everything should be (a) in stock and (b) super fresh

if you've been using a service for years and they've always been reliable up to now it's not unreasonable to think you can count on them.
I've heard a lot of bad things about Ocado recently.

They have sold out because you can book a delivery slot and order your stuff 3 weeks in advance to be delivered fresh the day before. I did mine a few days ago for tomorrow night and there are a few things I can't get too.

They've always been brilliant with me, just the occasional slightly late order and odd substitution. They did warn about service disruption for last weekend in e-mails but I got my stuff delivered at 10pm Saturday night (which is when I wanted it!) I only ordered at about lunch time on Friday so was half expecting loads of substitutions and there was only one.

Looks like your warehouse got caught out with their stock control. Write to them and complain, I'm sure they will take it very seriously.

Actually what did piss me off slightly was that I had some substitutions in my Christmas order which I'd placed in about October at their behest to reserve the slot...nothing important or irreplaceable but still...how much notice do you need?

I've got a delivery coming later today and the bbq stuff for friday isn't on it.
They have attempted to replace it with alternatives, but not suitable (vegi sausages instead of vegi burgers - and not the kind we ever order anyhow!).

So I rang up and asked if the burgers were in stock as they're not showing as unavailable on the website. Very helpful man offered to call me back after checking the stock. Called back to say that have loads of them in stock but to order quick as the delivery slots are going fast. I asked why they weren't coming today if they have plenty and he said the stock must have arrived after mine had been picked.
I have ordered them to come tomorrow plus some extra store cupboard stuff to make it up to £40.00
However I will check before I go to work tomorrow to make sure the items are coming. If not I shall tell them not to bother bringing any of the order and will have to trek to the vegi shop instead.

Up till now they have been very good, so I will put it down to a busy weekend and hope to get my items tomorrow instead.
Would never leave things to come the day before for a party/bbq though.
Gives you no time to sort out alternatives if there is a problem. OP you can't complain really if they are telling you they'r enot available. It's different if they don't turn up at all.
I always check to see what items aren't coming or have been substituted before my order comes. It's on the website pretty early after the picking time is past.

I went into our local Tesco last saturday lunchtime to pick up the bits I had forgotten to order from Ocado and guess what... they had run out of Pimms too. It looked like there had been a siege in their!!!

Last week ours was 15 minutes late because someone had crashed into the van Shock. Hardly their fault but they refunded our delivery anyway.

The only thing that was out of stock was strawberries (probably gone the same route as the Pimms!).

Desperately hoping my burgers are coming on saturday now, although those of you having BBQ this weekend you do know the weather is supposed to be piss-poor, or is that just me being told thatGrin

I too had problems getting what I wanted this week - lemons, salad, strawberries etc. It's the first time it's been this bad but I have had a few stock issues lately whereas I experienced none last year. Oh, and they just seemed to have stopped selling some things altogether!

That's just it, I don' mind if they are a bit late or a particular thing is not in stock, but when there are whole sections missing it's quite hard to shop there. I've used them for a long time and it is just this last week that they have lost the plot, really thought they would get it back together more quickly.

I went to tesco today to get the stuff that ocado didn't have and you would think a swarm of locusts had been. No whole milk, no cream at all (loads of elmlea) no salmon, smoked or otherwise, no large eggs, no cooked prawns or prawn cocktail, very little meat, no potato salad or pasta salad. It was like Christmas Eve except people were wearing shorts and buying half price Easter eggs.

I had loads of subs in this weeks shopping - and they charged me full price for the chickens, which were on 50% discount when I placed the order. They did refund for the whole cost of two chickens though - which I thought was very generous.
