actually I'm posting just to vent really so if you think I am unreasonable I don't care Grin
I had the opportunity today to take a senior position at work. I didn't take it because at present my work is flexible and I can pick DS up from school 3 days a week and only need family support with the other two days. DS has quite severe SEN and simply does not cope without a cast-iron security around his school arrangements so after school club is simply not an option.
I fully want to put my family first and WANT to pick DS up, but have been quite taken aback by how emotional I have been, that I couldn't take this next step. Logically I know that in future I will be able to when DS is less dependent. DH is not one of these husbands who have let my career take all the strain; he HAS changed his hours to assist with DS but there is simply no more room for manoevre in his job.
But still want to blub slightly.
Pass me the Wine

Would like to be with you but holding off for a little while! I have one child with quite difficult additional needs and I've not managed to get back to work at all. He needs to know where I am and what I'm doing at all times - and is so unpredictable in school that I always need to be available.

So, go ahead and have one for me!!

Having just lost my son in the woods after he ran away I fully intend to be having one or two myself tonight. Wine

Def NBU!!! Recently turned down an amazing job offer I was given to return to after maternity leave as it would have to be FT and I wanted to keep my PT contract. This was because I feared that my 'clingly & emotional' DD2 could not bare to be parted from me for more than a couple of days a week. However, fast foward 2 months and the same child is now outgoing and care-free and probably prefers the childminder to me!! Hey ho!
