I haven't seen it for years, I used to love love LOVE it. I had all the videos once upon a time (ok well the good ones, series 2-5)

DD has a penguin hand puppet which I christened Mr Flibble today, so had to explain why, and we ended up watching on Youtube. I laughed so much I had to send off for a DVD.

Can't wait for it to arrive!

Isn't it great sharing things with the DCs that you loved and know they will like too?

PS Can anyone remember where any "inappropriate" bits might be?

This is so weird. I ordered the box set last night! Triggered by seeing one on Gold or whatever that channel is called now. DS's excited too and I'm jealous of them for getting to watch them for the first time

I cannot wait to see them again, especially the one with the Despair Squid.

Squeeeeeee

I ordered them recently for my 13 yr old and he has LOVED them. The only one that was a bit iffy was the one where Lister wears out the groin attachemnt on the game in a later series. Oh and when Kryton becomes human and shows Lister his "double polaroid".

So it depends how old your DC's are :D

I love Red Dwarf! I've been watching the re runs on dave recently, sadly all mine are on video so a DVD or two might be in order.

I've never seen it. I'm worrying now as I may be missing out on something and I hate missing out!

My dds love Fawlty Towers, Roseanne, Blackadder and Sapphire and Steel. I've just bought the Ab Fab boxset and they have watched some with me so far.

I'm waiting for the Red Dwarf to come down in price before buying it. It's the only one from 'the past' that I haven't got! Dwayne Dibbley was priceless.

YADNBU. I'm a huge REd DWarf fan, I used to absolutely LOVE Red Dwarf in my teens and and I now own all the dvds and watch all the repeats when they're on Dave! Smile
Oh and greatly looking forward to the brand new series next year (bet it's not half as good as the old ones though, it all kind of went downhill after series 6!)
Yep I'm a geek Grin

I saw Craig Charles at a motorway service station once. My flatmate was with me and told all and sundry that we had seen Ray Charles. Cue lots of, "bet he didn't see you" comments Hmm

Actually 'Goldfish shoals nibbling at my toes' has a lot of relevance at the moment re the Chat thread 'So I am going to get my feet eaten by fish' Grin

Did anyone else think that the two (or was it three?) -parter last year was not that good? I think one of the writers was missing. I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

I love red dwarf and DD already knows the theme tune! I think she would probably like it actually, but remember some rather inappropriate bits too!

Um, are you all aware that RD 10 is coming?!Grin

We have all teh dvd box sets, can't wait until we can share them but may be awhile yet.
Agree that RD 9 was rubbish though

When I was a student I had a t-shirt with "Dwayne Dibbly" and his mahoosive teeth on the front of it :o Loved it.

Don't remember anything hugely inappropriate. I would let my eldest DS watch it. I think he would find it funny as he is a huge sci-fi fan.

Favourite episode is probably the Talkie Toaster.......bread products, anyone?

I had a 'stoke me a clipper, I'll be back for christmas' one

In fact. we couldn't sleep the other night a dug out Talkie Toaster episode, it's one of my favourites.

I have one question, given that god is infinite, and the universe is also infinite, would you liek a toasted teacake?'

The only one we have so far watched together was the polymorph episode where the monster took the most dominant emotion out of all of them.

To make Rimmer angry, the polymorph pretended to be Rimmer's mother who had just had sex with Lister. It was described in particularly Blush terms - I had to FF it.

I guess it was this that had made me feel worried about inappropriateness.

DS1 will probably laugh at the "double polaroid." DD won't notice.

My mum introduced me and my brother to Red Dwarf! I'm looking forward to showing it to my DSs, but at 3.5 and 19 weeks I think I'll have quite a wait til it's appropriate. I fell off the sofa laughing at the Mr Flibble episode the first time I saw it! Grin

my DC's 9 and 12 love it, we have so far watched up to series 5, lots of the "innuendo" just goes straight over their heads and they often ask why the audience is laughing!!! I loved Red Dwarf and used to have an "infinity welcomes careful drivers" t shirt. The episode with the Reverse brothers - kyrton and rimmer in started a whole new game and trying to say things backwards for days....

DP bought me the full DVD collection for Christmas, I love it. Series 1-5 great then really starts to go downhill.

I've already got all the dvds! including a limited edition box set with free scutter.

The DD's haven't really seen it, but DS (8) came downstairs one night when it was on Dave, so I put it on and made him watch it he sat and watched it with me. He thought it was brilliant. Mind you, he likes Bottom too.
