Emmerdale - shocked?

AIBU to think most of the women look like a cross between Katie Price and a drag queen (no offense to drag queens)? Don't watch it but was flicking past Emmerdale last night and watched a few minutes. Do the women always look like that? Watched it years ago and don't remember them looking quite like that (not talking about Annie Sugden). The amount of make up on every woman I saw was horrendous. Also they all had terrible skin, every one seemed to have a bad spot outbreak. Maybe they are trowelling it on to hide the spots or maybe the thick make -up is reacting badly with their skin - or was the make-up artist just having a very bad day.

OMG Kelly - didn't want to single anyone out but that was scary, especially when the camera zoomed in for the final close up - I felt so sorry for her. The others really weren't much better though - I've honestly never saw make-up that bad in series.

Is that something to do with HDTV? I read somewhere that they are all having to slap loads of make-up on to cover their horrendous skin which we might not have noticed before. But yes YANBU to think that not all farmdwellers look like WAGS

The character who plays Alicia is actually made up to look that hard - plastered in the stuff. In reality she a very beautiful women, I hardly recognised her!

kelly used to be really pretty before she got so skinny and had a more natural look to her, now she looks like a bulldog chewing a wasp!!!!

Do you think they made up the girl (who's just been fostered by eric and the landlady's sister - can't remember her name) on purpose to make it look like her face was orange and the rest of her is a normal colour?

That Kelly is hideous looking at the moment, the actress must be mortified when she sees herself on the telly :o

I was thinking that about Kelly too... I dont get the hype about how stunning she is.... looks more like she has been stunned with a plank of wood.. and the acting is as wooden too. She certainly aint a looker.

Actually to be fair to the actress playing Kelly my DD1 has just told me she has seen Kelly round and about in Harrogate and although tiny tiny little thing she is actually very bonny in RL. Also she has very nice way about her and is pleasant and well mannered with people.

Sorry Adele I was only joking DD has told me off!

I think the actress playing Kelly has ruined herself with all the tanning she does, her skin is so lined and she's only in her 20's. Don't watch it but whenever I do catch a bit she's always back in it. She can't seem to get much TV work anywhere else.

I've stopped watching it whilst she is in it. I can't look at anything else but her wonky mouth when she talks so have abandoned watching it for now.
