To not want nursery to dress ds in girls knickers when he has an accident?

Ds is 3 and at a school nursery- a 3 hour morning session. He sometimes wets himself and today came home in girls knickers and school trousers. The knickers were pink. I promise I am not making this up. Now I wouldn't care if he wanted to where pink knickers, but I almost feel like the staff are poking fun at him, not looking after him. They have plenty of spare clothes there. I haven't said anything today, as I didn't know until we got home. Do I ask them to dress him appropriately, or am I overreacting?
