AIBU?

to be annoyed with DH for forgetting his HMRC password?

So I did my tax return yesterday, no problem. Planned on doing DH's today, but knew I wouldn't be around to do it until after 9pm. Anyhow, I asked him for the password he set up last year...

Multiple attempts later he decides he has no clue what it is. The system automatically locks you out for 2 hours after 3 attempts (although it doesn't tell you this directly).

Fortunatly, he has been able to get a new password emailed, but now i'm sat here like a muppet waiting till 11.40 when i can try and log in again. Its not like I wanted an early night because I start a new job tomorrow or anything!!!

Hopefully 20 minutes will be long enough for me to fly through the process and pay what he owes!

If its not done by midnight we're liable for a £100 fine.

AIBU to think that if he had any doubts he should have sorted them earlier, and not relied on me to fix it?

Why did you leave it until the 30th and 31st to submit them though? I genuinely don't understand.

phew! Turns out you can complete a return and process a card payment in 14 minutes.

Think i'm more likely to try and beat my own record next year. Maybe one year i will learn... just not this time. :o

To be fair it is the most impossible to remember password and you can't change it for something memorable or personal.

I got mine into HMRC at 11.45 and I leave it to the last minute because I hate it and I like to live in denial for as long as possible about what I owe Grin Serves me right then that this year DH was entitled to a refund - wish I'd done them before Christmas now!

I have a memorable and personal password. And the system did tell me that it would lock me out after 3 attempts. Am I living in a parallel universe? Will I awaken tomorrow to find that I haven't filed my return after all and have to pay a fine? Sad Confused

We only found out about the lock out coz of the small print when you scroll down the page. Otherwise we just kept getting the wrong login message over and over.

I'm sure it told me when I mis-typed my gateway key the first time but I could be wrong, it's such a long time ago now! Grin

Why wasn't he doing it himself?

I think the clue is in the term Dependant Husband! Wink
