I know we will never be able to shut down the debate on how hard - or easy - it is to be a SAHM, or whether "full-time mum" is a good job title or not but, can I just say, to hell with those idiots who judge you for working/not working!

At some point don't women just have to say, "this is my choice"?

Who cares whether it's young whippersnappers, old biddies, doctors, milkmen, MPs, clergy, teachers, childminders, your friends, your MIL, your DH or even your own kids:

some people will never understand why you do/don't work whilst you parent.

AIBU to wonder why women pay SO much attention to other people's opinions of them? My mum never has, and I hope to follow her shining example myself some day.

People pay so much attention to what others think of them because of low self-esteem and not liking themselves enough.

Perhaps we ought to raise our children with healthier self-esteem.

I don't give a flying fuck-monkey what acquaintances/strangers think of me - I genuinely don't. Most people do to some extent.
