To Be Getting P'd Off At Hospital Results Taking Taking This Long?????

Confused

I had a 2 Day Nuclear Heart Scan back at the beginning of November, having previously had the Heart Doctor reassure me that as he only has 50 patients in the whole county with anything seriously wrong at my age or younger, it's very rare, but needed ruling out, due to my symptoms & strong family History....he did make it clear he was very concerned about my BP, & having did the basic tests there, put me on an Angina spray via my GP without telling me Confused

I'm presuming no news in good news, but as as I did have a severe reaction to the drug used for the stress part of the test, despite the Nurse insisting I wouldn't as its a natural chemical produced by the body.....they called for back up as my heart went mental & it was if having a heart attack Shock

all other appointments with this department have been very quick, & I've NEVER waited this long for results of ANY other type of hospital test & I would of thought, nature of the beast & all that, that Cardiology would be PDQ Confused

I have spoken to a GP about this (mines away) & was told not to worry its unlikely to be bad or I would of heard quickly, which is kind of what I was thinking anyway & told to chase it up myself......which I did & it took me until the first day back after Xmas to get any joy speaking with anyone who could actually help....she told me it was on the Consultants desk, he needed to deal with it & I would hear very soon. copied to me & GP

Thats nearly 2 weeks ago, over 2 months in total, I know its been Xmas & all, but it just seems like a stupidly long time to leave someone wondering Confused

Anyone else had this, or anyone medical ...is this normal, or am I right to be getting p'd off????

The stress of not getting anywhere must be awful , i work in the nhs and sweet fa happens over christmas and the new year , ring and ask to speak to the consultants secatary , they will be able to chase it for you ,do it every day if necessary , im afraid that being a bit of a pain is the only way to get results sometimes .

Thanks bumpsoon, thankfully I'm not a worrier, so not too stressful, but the Hospital don't know that & the nature of the tests could mean I'm very worried, so pretty poor show, I do need to know though, as as much as I'm not expecting anything too bad, as presume if it was I would of heard PDQ,

I want to book a trip away on my own, which obviously wouldn't be so sensible if there IS anything showing on the tests, & also need to know for insurance whether it is really Angina, or if thats just a precation Confused

I have tried again, but just keep getting the Secretaries answer machine Hmm, but I'll take your advice & keep bugging them & see my GP to do the same....THANKS :)
