AIBU?

To not want DH to drive to work tomorrow?

He has an hour and a half commute, much of it on "less busy" roads. They are lethal tonight, it just took us 40 minutes to drive rom our friends and it usually takes us 15. I really don't want him to go but he says he is going in. I don't want to be hysterical but I will worry like mad.

Should I feign illness or something to stop him from going in? Or should I just get a life?

No as he works in a place with poor to no public transport links. :( I just don't feel it is worth it. I keep thinking what if something happens and it's christmas? Waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!

That last post sounds like I mean it would be inconvenient if DH popped his clogs at xmas time but I didn't mean that!

Erm....I think YABU.

I will be up and out by 7am tomorrow whilst DH and the kids are tucked up in bed.

I work for the NHS, on a ward, it would never cross my mind not to go.

Unless you live in Sutherland Hmm

It's not that I think he should skive work because it's snowed, it's that he has to drive a long and treacherous route. If you have to drive in dangerous conditions, serin then that's up to you. I wouldn't take the risk.

Honest answer? I think you need to be careful not to pile on the guilt and make him feel he ought to stay off work just to make you feel better. He's an adult, he knows his job, the pressures and expectations, let him make his own judgement call. Yes, its not nice travelling in this weather, but he can leave himself plenty of time, wrap up warm, agree to call you as soon as he arrives.... Just be grown up about it. The country should not grind to a halt just because of the weather
