Have I been under a rock? It's something to do with children and Jordan but to be honest I try my hardest to avoid paying attention to her. But it seems to have blown up. So please fill me in.

YANBU - I dont watch his tosh either. But as far as I can tell from the general uproar, he made a particularly bad taste jibe, even for him, about jordan's disabled son trying to sleep with his mother.

he made 2 "jokes" about Jorden and HArvey (amongst several other off-colour at best jokes abut rape in general)

  1. that Jordan and Peter Andre were still fighting over custody of Harvey, and that one day oneof them would lose and have to keep him

  2. that he now understood why Jordan had married a cage fighter - to keep Harvey from fucking her

both hilarious as you can see Hmm

I pm'd what he said to the op.

That's what the pm facility is for

Ohhh I see. Was she in the audience (was it a live thing?) or was it just a stand up?

Whilst I think it is quite sick, surely the whole free speech has to play a part?

"While I may not agree with what you say, I'll defend until my death, the right for you to say it...". What do you think?

I dunno who this Boyle is, so I don't know his usual "comedy" routine. Is it usually so crass?

I'm sure we're all old enough to avoid the thread if we don't want to hear what Frankie-off-the-Boyle saidHmm.

backwardpossom · 12/12/2010 18:41

Yes. He's vile. Uses offence to cover up the fact that he's really not very funny at all.

Whoa.....hey OP you can use the search facility if you like and see the other discussion on this, instead of researching here.

Lifeforrent- would you mind awfully if I made a few jokes here about your kids raping you? I'll name them and you. THat okay by you? You know, freedome of speech and that.

I was wondering too, that is truly shocking. No wonder she is so pissed off! She is a person who attracts digs I know but that is not a comic "dig" it is just plain out of order.

Yes it is usually pretty "edgy" (so I avoid him) but I do think that is a line crossed.

WhyHavePets · 12/12/2010 18:44

Posie how is asking what was said researching? (I assume mean in a journo way).

As for searching it has already been said that HQ have take down reproductins of his "jokes".

I am glad people are posting the "joke" on here.
people need to know what a wanker fb is.

Report
silverfrog · 12/12/2010 18:49

that's what I thought, nightmare - someone asked why he was being regarded as so offensive. I answered.

I don't think trying to keep this under wraps is a good idea - it is completely and utterly offensive, and people shoudl know what a bigoted idiot the man is.

I have absolutely no idea who Frankie Boyle is and I do not care to find out.
And, naturally, I have not read the thread/s...Hmm

rainbow you don't have to make it personal. I wasn't saying WHAT he said was ok, I was merely contemplating that he has the right to say what he wants...God forbid. I don't think people can only have free speech as long as it is agreed with by the masses. Still I thought his name was Danny Boyle so it shows how much popular culture I'm involved in. I wasn't aware there was any other groups, I trawled the last one, and I couldn't figure out what had been done, but thanks :)

I dont know anything about him apart from threads on here, i gathered that what he had said was pretty repulsive but am still shocked at what was posted abouve

I think jordan is prob fair game for the odd bad/rude joke as she puts herslf out as a celebrity

It is incredibly inapropriate to comment on her child though, with him being a) a child b) disabled

And for once i think that Katie Price has managed it in a dignified manner

Shame on channel 4 for broadcasting this crap though

I personally do not like FB his comedy dosen't tickle me at all, but I usually say ah well each to their own a suppose.
But this is truely not right. He has stepped over a mark...dunno quite where that mark is for me but he has stepped over it. Maybe its the fact that its a child, no I think its the actual naming of said child, mother, father and stepfather that gets me.
If this was a joke said in a more generalised way without specific names the my each to their own would come into play.
Frankie Boyle you have done wrong this time and should at the very least apoligise.

Hasn't he apologised yet?

Where would one draw the line? Peter Kay making jokes about kids with childhood obesity? Roy Chubby Brown taking the mick out of people in wheelchairs (according to my mother, who loves him-bit before my time)...? I mean how many "comedians" would have to forfeit their shows?

He won't be apologising when C4 have supported him in the statement they issued and rebroadcast the programme. Xmas Hmm

I thought you were talking about Susan Boyle!

He is awful, not funny and iirc he insulted a MN when she went to one of his shows.

Report
baabaapinksheep · 12/12/2010 20:07

OP - childhood obesity is caused by parents overfeeding their children, easily chanredged, disability is not! Totally different thing. He should of thought about what he was going to say beforehand, and whether it was acceptable.

I agree that everyone has the right to say what they want, however, if you rely on public support and say things that are upsetting to most people, then the support will no longer be there. He won't be prosecuted over what he said (freedom of speech) but will most likely become incredibly unpopular.

Some people feel that the 'joke' is fair because Jordan put Harvey into the spotlight. It's not fair because ultimately Boyle feels it's acceptable to 'joke' about an eight year old child with multiple mental and physical additional needs. Someone who can't fight back.

His weight is due to his hormone problems by the way, and have people noticed that since he's getting bigger and his hormone meds stabilising his weight is lessening?

LifeForRent · 12/12/2010 20:15

Oh I wasn't suggesting that he was "obese". It was just an example. I suppose there's an essence of if you're in the spotlight your livelihood will be too. But he can't defend himself. And it's sick in the sense that Jordan is enough of a standing joke that he shouldn't have to look for more material in her children!
