It's still there, I'm sure it's glaring at me in a mocking fashion.

I've had those too Grin

Gotta love 'em! Grin

It's certainly the stuff of nightmares.

She just took it upon herself to go off and make it, then put it on MY our tree. How very dare she!

This is why DS has his own (cheapo little fake) christmas tree in his room.

He can string whatever he fancies onto it without me twitching.

I'd be quite happy to rehang Rudolph'sbollock an interesting spherical one that DD made in nursery school, except, all our decorations have disappeared. I imagine they either got left behind in Switzerland or binned here in Belgium. either way, I need to go and buy a whole new set tomorrow. I will really miss the ones she made at school. We have a rather nice lots.

DD made her first this year at 19mo. It's proudly named and dated and displayed proudly. I'm sure once she's older we'll also be trying to hide them displaying them proudly.

I have a decades worth of glittery xmas vomit fondly cherished items hanging on mine. Each year I tolerate treasure them even more. Will sob over them when she's too old want to make stuff anymore though.

I have to hang something blue on my tree every year Shock. My tree is strictly red and gold (ponce), but all you can actually focus on is the blue thing. It's basically a couple of lolly sticks stuck together with a face drawn on (it has a malevolent expression) by DS2 years ago, and then blue tinsel glued down badly. Most upsetting.

OP - we need a photo! How bad is it?

Report
Errmmmm · 05/12/2010 16:20

My dh thinks I'm very mean because I refuse to hang home made tat children's decorations on the tree.

I mean, if I let them do that they might want to put tinsel on it or something too! No good can come of it, wherever would it end? Shock

Hi hmmSleep !

YANBU - it completely wrecks the look of enhances the beauty of your tree and decoration scheme to have such gluey bits of tat lovingly hand-crafted items strung all over it!

I suggest you quietly feed it to the dog move it gradually out of prime position, or buy her a little tree of her own that she can "decorate" with all her own work.

How's the snow with you, btw?

Hi Vanillacandle, thankfully bloody snow is finally melting Grin. I even smile rather wickedly watching the Dcs' snowman slowly wither away.

I'll take a photo of the hideous delightful decoration and post it later.

Oh, and they do have a little tree of their own in the playroom, apparently it's not good enough Hmm for her very special adornment, I felt it fitted the purpose perfectly.

You misery!

My Mum still has some decorations on the tree that I made when I was little, they are lovingly stored from year to year and proudly put back on the tree. I'm glad I didn't biff them out like I wanted to when I was a teenager.

I know it's a lighthearted thread, but it's actually made me quite sad. How you would feel if they weren't here to make them for you next year....

If you don't love them - send them to me.

{Either the kids or the decorations Xmas Grin]
