Pick your forum carefully, read through some of the responses before asking and you should be fine. Blunder around without a clue and you may have your feelings hurt.

YANBU - it's soooooo easy to be rude to somebody on a forum such as this - much the same as with emails. I bet most of the people who love getting stuck in on here are pretty meek in RL.

Yeah dracschick is a proper old bitch Grin.

Generally I find it ok but last Christmas I posted in absolute desparartion vv miserable and really thought I was gonna go off my rocker and did end up getting a real flaming Sad that really did hurt me and I would think twice about posting stuff like that I was just in a very desperate place.

Depends if what you are asking really invites a strong response. I have seen some people posting some apalling things - perfectly reasonable for them to be told exactly how wrong they are. Why should we agree with stupidity, selfishness and abuse -an opinion can be negative too.

whats the point of asking for opinions if you don't want them?

and also text speak really isn't the done thing on here

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 28/11/2010 22:44

nope - I'm not meek in RL - hell no.

If you ask for my advice/opinion - I'll give it. Don't like it - tough you shouldn't have asked.

Speak for yourself Reality Hmm Grin

How very dare you OP! We are a lovely nest of vipers bunch of gentlewomen! Shock

Agree with Goblin. MN is no place for the feebleminded, we don't do fluffy, we don't do tickers, fellas, hubbys or txtspk.

Much of the nastiness is tongue in cheek, if anyone is really out of order they get told to STFU.

Met a fair few of them last night and the sarcasm and swearing were an integral part of what made it a great night Grin

If you want pink fluffy bunnies and to post in text-speak, please try another forum. This is the bad girls' corner. Grin

Well, I am MUCH more horrible in real life then I am on here!

I wasn't keen on the swearing when I started, and do still loathe the C word, but I come from a very heavily moderated horse forum and the occasional liberal use of the F word is very liberating.

i have come from netmums {blush} and rarely use it now for fear of getting jumped on by the breastfeeding police. it's great to have a place where i can swear and it not be censored and even though yes i have sparkly tickers on my profile i'm still a right bitch if caught in a bad mood. sorry in advance if i cause upset but seeing as this is only my third post i hope i haven't offended anyone so far. hopefully having come from there and admitted it i wont get jumped on
