to have 23 forks

I was finding MN quite dull tonight so I have been counting things and we have 23 forks in the cutlery drawer.
Do you think this is an excessive amount of forks?

I recently culled my cutlery drawer. But I do know that I have enough cutlery (k,f,s) to do a sit-down meal for 40 people.
I have two 'proper' (wood) canteens and several 'boxed' sets. I've recently downgraded one of the canteens to everyday and relegated all the boxed to the party bag upstairs. And lots of matching serving spoons.
I also have 2 sets of cake servers and a very posh cake knife. And silver plated fish knives and a silver plated fruit salad serving/eating set.
I am a bit weird about cutlery.
Oddly enough, my favourite salad servers are plastic.

ooh you could have a fork supper. They always sound so posh - when I'm grown up I'm going to have one (tho I'll be needing some more forks).

I have a lot of forks and knives, but hardly any spoons. This is.because I went through a phase of unintentionally taking home cutlery from work that I'd used for lunch. Don't think we'd have space for 23 forks though.

I just counted my forks. I have 61!!!!!! That is a serious amount of forks.

That includes:
12 everyday (6 large, 6 small)
24 posh set (12 large, 12 small)
25 wooden ones from barbecue set



Have I out-forked everyone?

ah, but I did a resort of the cupboards last week and I have 22 ramekins, 33 dinner plates and....6 bowls

as if I have posh parties where everyone gets a souffle, a main course and no pudding!

We have a lot of cutlery too, but when the DDs get lazy and leave it dirty and just get new ones instead of washing them, DH and I lock all but 4 of each, (1 of everything for each of us), except then - they use dessert spoons to make their cup of tea. .
