AIBU?

To think my sister's attitude stinks

She came to visit me today along with parents, first time in five years.
As soon as she got in the door she started moaning about my dad 'making her' sit in the car for an hour when she was visiting them to come and see me (they live 50 miles away- she lives 300 miles away)
she repeated this about four times.
She broke my curtains by yanking them and didn't apologise or offer to try and fix them.
She started new conversations with my mum while we were talking.
She completely ignored DP who she has known 9 years.
She wanted chocolate biscuits, not the biscuits I had in.
she didn't ask how I was/what I was upto.

it's the second time I've seen her this year, the first time in the seasonthatshallnotbenamed she 'shushed' me for four solid days because she wanted to watch tv and ate one of my Xmas presents.

If she were 18 I could understand, but she's sodding 30!!!

yabu
I would be pissed of if I driven 300 miles away and then had to drive another 50, couldn't you have met her at your parents

sorry I thought she had done it all in one hit

Yanbu. Tbh she doesn't sound like a very nice person, shame you can't choose your family. Could you cut her out of your life if her behaviour is usually like this?

Although if she lives 300 miles away and you only see her a couple of times a year it might just be easier to keep quiet and be thankful she doesn't live nearer!

even if she had travelled it all in one day, she bloody made that choice didn't she?!

If she didn't want to then she should of just stayed at her parents FGS.

I hate that, people going along with a plan but getting all pissy with someone because of it, yet they don't actually have to do it!

If i don't feel up to seeing other family when i trek down to my mums i wait until the next day, or, go early so i can have a nap before another round of visits.

She's 30, not 13.

OP YADNBU.
If my sister did that, i wouldn't be inviting her back for any more visits.

yanbu. she sounds very immature.

yanbu, she sounds like a rude, spoiled, self centred cow.

I would be saying something without a doubt.

And I wouldn't be seeing her over the festive season.

I think I'm just going to be making it a one day visit over the festive season so she doesn't have time to burst my bubble.

Thanks though- it's just hard to stomach, we've never had a big falling out, so it's not like it's old wounds and she's older than me so I would have thought she would be more interested.

The only nice (?) thing she said was 'your kitchen is bigger than mine' :(

Hedge, she sounds like an absolute bitch.

Facilitataing bad behaviour enables it imo.

If you can't take her to task then I would distance myself completely.

Nah you're right enormous, I think I will have a word about her behaviour before Xmas. If she could even just pretend to be pleased to see me I'll be happy enough.

I wouldn't want her to be a role model for any of my children, Sister or not.

I would be sending her the bill for your curtains aswell. Angry

OTTmommA-excellent idea, I have been after a new set anyway Grin
she never used to be like this but she's marrying into a very wealthy family so I think she thinks that she's the queen of fucking sheba now. Ah well perhaps that means she'll go skiing at Xmas and I can sit in my parents aNd have a good laugh!
