Have been ill all week with a stomach bug - in a new job and have already had to take two days off due to ill child and training day (and had to leave early today due to child in A&E).

Am single mum but have partner in Navy - he came with his two kids this weekend so I had five kids to cater for and entertain along with this tummy bug, OH doesn't/can't cook and doesn't take the iniative either. His two went home yesterday.

Last night he came down with tummy bug (obviously a lot worse Hmm) and went back to the Naval base this morning only to be signed off by the GP for 24 hrs.

He has driven back here and is snoting alseep on the sofa while I clear up the mess from having 5 kids here for the weekend and I (still also with tummy bug) also cook dinner and deal with my own kids.

AIBU to feel very slightly pissed off and resentful?

He is ill and by your own admission you have put up with this behaviour before as he 'doesn't take the initiative'. If you want this to change, you need to explicitly tell him this. But not while he's ill. Don't be a doormat

Don't know what you're with him for if it just means more work for you when he's around and you have to look after his kids too
