who have been taken over by mothercare!!!!!!!!!

i purchased a castle from my local ELC shop for the children i look after (i'm a childminder) and paid extra for figures as the castle doent come with figures.

on the box it has the castle with the king and queen in the castle so the children asked if i could get the king and queen to put in the castle

next time i was in the shop I asked the assistance if she had the king and queen but she told me it had been discontinued, she found me a princess on the pocket money stand as well as a witch, which I was happy with.

So when I got home I decided to ring your main office to enquire why if your selling a castle in your shop has it a photo of the king and queen on the box if you are unable to buy these items from the store, the lady on the phone told me that it was just an illustration of what you can do with the toy, she also said we have pictures of children on the box to but you can?t buy those!!!!!

Cunting Mothercare!

(Sorry, couldn't resist, hope you've seen the threads!!)

What a stupid, stupid response! If you buy a castle, buying the illustrated King & Queen is a resonable expectation, buying children is not. Ring again, you might get someone with half a brain!

However, to get the King, Queen, carriage etc - go on ebay :)

How silly to sell a product but not figures you'd expect would go with it, seems very short sighted to me.

Found this?

Have you tried playmobil for figures??

You could have told her you called the 'helpline' - nothing like a bit of false advertising there!!!

Why do little girls want to be princesses rather than queens?

I think you expect too much. You bought a castle. It said figures not included.

Am loving ELC woman's response though. Just so brilliantly cutting!

Tiggy - because the Queen is the Mummy and the princess is the beautiful daugher who has all the fun and marries a handsome prince - not her Dad!

I love that logic about the picture of children on the box, but don't mean you can buy the children.

My DD got a dolls house from ELC and it came with some figures. It was obviously rather progressive as, in addition to the children figures, it came with two 'mummies'!
