AIBU?

to think that some important points have been missed in this debate.

People have rightly said how unfair these changes are for Single parents and SAHP of high tax payers.
However, this is not the only reasons why the Govt are mad to do this.
The savings are less than it will cost them to bring in Universal Credits. So the savings won't directly be used to get this Country out of the mess the previous Govt got us into. Their words not mine.

I also think that it could make some SAHM consider returning to work earlier than planned to make up the deficit. I am certainly considering this. So at the moment I am at home looking after my children and not claiming any benefits except Child Benefit. Now I am likely to return to work and potentially take a job away from all those people on benefits that the Govt want to get back to work. Great plan.

The point that we have too many threads on this topic and we can't have a decent discussion on it now?

Does anyone seriously make the decision to go to work or stay at home on the basis of £12 a week CB or whatever it is? I'd spend more than that on muffins and coffee in a week.

Do you reckon MNHQ would put a thing at the top of the page everywhere? Like the one in AIBU? Politely pointing out to people that we have, in fact, had it up to here with exactly the same thread 500 times.

FGS at least put 'this is a CB thread' in your title so we can hide it.

This is why I posted my 'kicking an anthill thread' in AIBU. It was meant to be an invitation to mild micky-taking and humour at our expense but it turned into another debate about the ins and outs of CB

Wow, it's getting militant. There's a thread talking about a protest march.

MaMoTTaT · 06/10/2010 14:51

like Orm said - every aspect has already been covered.
