AIBU?

Weird one, don't know what to do. Or if I should do anything at all?

Basically my DS came home from nursery with three pubic hairs on the outside of his shorts. He always changes when he comes home and that's when I saw them. Not worried as such, more perturbed...

How do you know they're pubes not curly hairs?

Definitely pubic hairs? No chance he could have sat/lay somewhere when he got home that could have had some stray hairs lying about?

Another thought, any children at nursery have short curly/afro hair?

OP Let me just clarify...

You believe the 3 hairs inside your DS's shorts were/are pubic hairs - yes?

ARE YOU INSANE? YOU MUST BE NOT TO BE WORRIED!!!!

Outside Evenstar, maybe a moot point but outside

Pretty sure they were pubic hair. We have curly hair/ afro genes in the family and pubic hair is distinctive. I would really appreciate if you could tell me how you would handle this if it was you.

So, are you saying it is pubic hair from a family member? I'm a bit confused re your last post.

If you really do think it's pubic hair then you need to get to the bottom of this pronto.

Shorts or pants?

Outside the shorts, TLES.

Sorry to be clear, they were on the outside of his shorts. They looked just like pubic hair as in that curly, kinked sort of way with the root bit at the end. I know it sounds really weird. It made me feel freaked out to see them and I brushed them off.

As for what I would do- I would put the hairs in a clear plastic bag, and make an appointment to speak to the nursery. Probably.

And this was at home, after nursery and after a car journey? Did he play in the bathroom or near any dirty washing in between?

Did your son seem distressed or have any account of his day?

Report
loopyloops · 05/10/2010 23:28

Yes, I agree with BOF I think.

How old is he?
Are you able to gently question him?

i am sorry, i really don't know. i think if you are sure and you can be pretty positive he didn't pick the up at home (playing on floor, sorry i am just guessing) then you have to speak to the nursery. what you say is something i can't help you with though.

It's probably nothing, by the way, but I can see why you are worried.
