And will have to produce a marriage certificate to come off it?

I'm being sarcastic btw but really- do they really think that there is any other way?

If they could they probably would. Doubt it would be the pill though - much more likely to be an implant/depo surely?

None of which are 100% effective anyway!

And what VinegarTits said.

Tell us more about the gvt's fear of single parents.

I'm a single parent in the UK. My government isn't scared of me... where do you live then?

why the pill for women??

why not operate on the men instead? after all, they are the ones most likely to bugger off

VinegarTits · 20/09/2010 13:06

OP never stated that they should give the pill to women, it could be a male pill, anyway she already said she is just being sarcastic

They are scared of single parents. Why would be a controversial bunch otherwise?

They are scared in case we have about 10 children and the state will have to support them. They were slagging us off on Loose woemn today. Not goverment run but the media create this fear.

Oh - they would have to outlaw divorce and make widows remarry straight away too.

Loads of people in gvt are widowed or divorced though aren't they.

Can you be a bit more specific about the fear they have of you.

I've gone off that programme. It's supposed to be for women but it isn't at all. It's for rich women; like the presenters.

It's not just fear; it's scapegoating. Benefits this and benefits that. I wanted to slap that Carol going on a bout taxpayers money. She's so loaded but she's winging on about tax. Typical. What does she actually do anyway? She gets drunk and dates rich men and goes on holiday. She don't want kids so she won't ever have to be in that situation. Well good for her.

I used to work in a charity shop while I was at Uni and in a relationship. Because it was a nice thing to do.

Oh right, so it's not the government then, it's Loose Women.

They are not scared of you. It's a shit tv programme and they need to be predictable "sensationalist" to keep/gain viewers.

Don't watch it.

The media use the phrase 'single parent' when what they actually want to conjour up is 'Vicky Pollard' - pink shell-suit and all the rest. If you happen to be a single parent that is, over 18, self-sufficient, respectable, a home-owner etc. it just spoils their fun.

Carol whatsit from Loose Women is undoubtedly an annoying telly presence, but you'd be better served by not watching garbage telly than by suggesting it reflects the governments views.

The thing is, Carol pays her (high, as you say) taxes and is as entitled as anybody else to a say in how she thinks they should be spent.

Or are you saying that higher earners should not have a say in how taxes are spent as they are too rich to count?

I don't see how saying people should not have children until they can financially and emotionally support them is being "scared" of those people.
