As its a beautiful day up here me and dd 2.5 headed up to the new play area.

She is recently potty trained so i popped her pink bag (its like a soft lunch box with a puppy motif) on the buggy with a change of clothes in.

I was sitting at the edge of the play area watching her when she looked like she was about to dive down the slide headfirst like the older kids, so i jumped up and went to help her down in a more sensible way!

Returned to my buggy and some scummy person has nicked off with her change bag! Lowest of the low imo, stealing what is obviously a small childs bag! Im Shock and Angry and Sad that someone would sink that low! I turned my back for a few seconds and someone took their oppurtunity!

Just needed a rant!!!

How infuriating! Some people really are aresholes.

Although it does seem a strange thing to steal - are you sure a child didn't wander off with it?

What was in it? Hope you didn't lose anything you are too sad about.

That was my first though - a child might have taken a liking to it - i looked all over though and asked a few people if they had seen it to no avail.

There was only knickers and leggings in thankfully.

We had our new pram nicked from the buggy bay at Butlins once, what made it worse was that it was dd2's 1st birthday and she had birthday balloons attached to it so it was obvious that it was a special day. It had all of their coats and dd2's change bag in it too, I was so upset but the staff were useless! So OP I sympathise with you totally! There are some real vermin around!

Are you sure it didn't fall out when you were on your way to the park?

It's also perfectly possible that another dc took off with it into the bushes or whatever.

My mum had my buggy nicked once... in the middle of some fields. Our dog ran off on a walk and she couldn't lift it over the hedge, so she lifted me over, got the dog back, came back to the original field... no buggy. She says she looked around for ages thinking she'd gone mad and ended up in the wrong field somehow, but it really had gone. Someone must've stopped their car, plonked it in, and driven off. People are wierd.

We had my ds birthday party in a park this summer. My Dh laid out a treasure hunt for the children and 10 mins later, when they went to do it, some teenagers had made off with the loot!
We were in eye sight of the sweets all the time, they obviously didn't have the morals and thought process to consider that this may upset a group of 4 year olds. Sad

Was it roker park?
My mum was at park with my ds few years back and a bloke actually pinched ds drink and gave it to his own child! Mum was too shocked (not wanting to confront scary bloke) to say anything.

I know the feeling - it is really upsetting.

A local swimming pool we attend asks you to leave shoes in cubby holes outside the changing rooms. Someone decided to pinch my four-yr-olds crocs. She was gutted as she'd loved them (pink with princess charms Hmm) and she then had to walk barefoot to the car (I was carrying my 2yr old) and missed out on a day out that we'd planned after swimming. It's not the cost - it's the principle, and the anger you feel as a parent that someone would do that to your child.

People either don't care or don't think about the devastated child who doesn't understand why someone would steal something that wasn't theirs.

On the pram theft thing, many many moons ago my mum was at the docs with me as a baby, a mum came though to the waiting area upset, said her pram had been stolen from the pram park, the docs was on the same street we lived on so my mum took pity and said she could borrow he big silver cross carriage pram so the lady could get he young baby home, my mum never saw her pram again, she had given the other mum her address and everything, was clear it was a loan, mum told me she ended up thinking that the mum hadn't had a pram nicked at all but was trying it on.
It is terrible what some people will take without a thought for the person who it belongs to, there was in my local new not long ago the story of a single mother with three little ones who had her electric wheel chair stolen from out side her home, she was totally housebound without it and couldn't get her children out the house, a local wheel chair company gave her a new one after hearing about it on the news in the end, sickening it really is :(
