AIBU?

To think mum's husband should put some clothes on?

My mum (in the U.S.) finally has Skype working so she can see her grandson, and it is lovely. What is NOT lovely, is suddenly seeing the bare belly and chest of her husband looming in the background.

And it's not as if he was just walking by. He stood there for a good ten minutes watching the screen and waving. I know it's hot there, but they've got air conditioning, and surely he could have put on a shirt on before coming over to say hello?

I am having flashbacks to when they were visiting last year and I accidentally opened the bathroom door on him just as he was getting in the shower.

I need to go scrub my brain with bleach now. Grin

Hahhhaha ewwww!

Hi, other Yank! :) We've thought about getting Skype for this reason, though we're not on a different continent from my parents. We're actually in the same state but it's still a 5 hour drive so...

But YANBU, unless he's super goodlooking, which by your description he is not. :o

If he was standing behind your mum 'tackle out' then you wouldn't be unreasonable for thinking 'put it away'!

But just being bare chested in the heat isn't too bad, and in effect you are going into their home so he's probably like my FIL and doesn't act much differently to when there aren't visitors there, although he does make an effort to put clothes on (thank fuck) Grin

'tackle out'

oh help, he was standing behind the sofa, so theoretically he could have been pantsless as well as shirtless. Now I'm going to have nightmares. Thanks a lot, AgentZigzag! Angry

hiya other Yank! Skype is quite handy and free. We're also trying to use it with the other grandparents who are 3.5 hours away. Then my FIL will be able to regale us with tales of how many times he went to the toilet last night.

Just imagine the next time you go for a visit and have to sit on the sofa :o

Perhaps he's always naked when he talks to you on the phone?

YANBU, It's bad enough having to see my MIL's husband and he always has clothes on!

I know I'm old fashioned about this but I don't really like bare chested men anywhere except the beach (excluding bathroom/bedroom obviously). I just think it's a bit ewwwwwww.

YABU- he's at home, and he's obviously very relaxed, which is a good thing. It's nice that he doesn't feel like he needs to stand on ceremony with you. TBH I think feeling squeamish about his body is your problem, not his.

Wow. I'd say "I'll just wait while chuck puts on a T-shirt" and then don't speak or move 'til he returns with a t-shirt on... Skype can be so stiled as it is I find. If he won't get on board, tell him now is as good a time as any to bleach your mousstache.

YABU

I thought you were going to say he was completely naked... it's his chest for godsake, it's hot, why the hell shouldn't he only have shorts on. Why the hell should he put a shirt on in his own home??

MN is such a mixed bag... bumsex one minute, gasp, shock, horror over a man going shirtless the next... Grin

I dunno, Belle...I saw the most gorgeous fit tanned gardener walking around shirtless and I liked that just fine. :o

I hate it when when white van men hang out the window topless here , because the frost has just about lifted.

Poor man in his living room with out a shirt though... YABRU!
