vulgar spagheti letters

Jasonthunderpants · 09/08/2010 12:13

This morning myself an dd had spagheti letters on toast and I was disgusted to see the filth that could be spelled with the letters
surley these kind of comestibles are aimed at youngsters
I will not be giving these to my dd ever again
and one word that could be spelled was a very offencive word in Spanish

what kind of twisted people are putting the letters in the tins?

That's what you get for eating canned junk. At least with freshly cooked Waitrose organic wholegrain spelt linguine you have to spell out your own obscenities long-hand... .

YANBU at all. I had a tin of these and every fucking word inside was misspelt. What kind of example is that to impressionable young children?

YANBU. Heinz and their ilk should be up in court. I innocently offered DD a plate of Mr. Men pasta shapes for tea a couple of days ago and on serving, quite frankly, what one Mr. Tickle shape was doing to one of the Mr. Bump shapes with his long arms was shocking. Luckily I managed to dash the plate to the floor before DD had the chance to see but not all parents will be so lucky.

YANBU

My DD asked, "Mum, what is oral sex?" after eating a tin of spaghetti letters.

Shocking.

We should be thinking of a MN campaign to force Heinz to take this filth off Britain's shelves.

Perhaps the Daily Mail would be interested?

My chief bugbear is that the tins come without punctuation included. What is that teaching our young people?

My daughter recently had a message in text speak.

I believe it was "u luk gr8"

We make our own fresh pasta and my DS can shape all the major European diacriticals himself -- and judge the correct length for the parentheitical dash. Don't other MNers do this?

Report
Eleison · 09/08/2010 12:55

(Apologies for wrong spelling of 'parenthetical'. I am using a tinned keyboard for convenience.)

yaDnbu. However, I am more concerned at the lack of punctuation an the inevitable poor grammar that will result! Perhaps with the force of MN behind us we can put a stop to this vulgarity?

Coraltoes
I think that you should return your calculator to WH Smiths and demand an explanation. What if one of your DC had been using it?

When I was little we had alphabet soup and had to spell our ouwnrude words! What is the world comming to!

Now, are there really tins of spaghetti with words already spelt? Have I lived in a vaccum world for the last few years?

I agree - and coupled with those potato products shaped like letters it's positively obscene! If there were ever enough vowels in the packets you could quite possibly might even perhaps think of a rude word.

Oh God... I must be seriously tired, until I read just past half way I thought this was a serious one! Grin. Think Jelly needs to go back to bed and come back when her brain can function properly.
