Being spring March,April. Then a brief Summer of May Through to mid or end of July followed by a monsoon/wet season through to first/second week of September. Then 2 weeks of autumnal sunshine.Autumn through to November winter then till Feb.This pattern has repeated itself for years where I live.So 6 weeks of "Summer" holiday is little more than a monsoon washout.AIBU or should the powers that be address this issue and rearrange the 6 week holiday to a sunnier time, seeing that the kids now don,t need 6 weeks to help with the traditional harvesting of crops like they did 100 yrs ago.Or am I just plain being unreasonable?

It really would make plain sense to me.Hey RIVEN put this to your pal Dave Cam 2 weeks for Christmas, 2 for Easter, 2 for summer[to be taken earlier].Then each child has an extra 10 day flexible allowance to take as and when.I think this is a well smart plan

yep, the summer is always over by the time the school summer holidays arrive

if they have to have six weeks off, it should be mid May-end of June

Oh, I so agree with this. Every year, the summer holidays are a washout and we are stuck indoors with hyper-active children with barrels of energy to burn and nothing to do but bounce off the walls!

Summer holidays should be re-arranged to June/July, then new school year starts in the Summer Term in August. Perfect-o.

But it's never going to happen, is it?
