both sainsburys and tescos have a good range of stuff from choc, butter, stuffing, gravy granules, biscuits. not really got any good recipes, or just too tired to think of any. It really is the case of reading ingredients on everything as it is surprising what milk can be in. Tbh it is really daunting at first but once u get familar with which products u need to avoid and which ones are ok it does get alot better.

your story sounds just like ours! ds1 same as yours, so treated ds2 as dairy free from birth. just takes a bit to get ur head round, but once you figure it out it's ok. company called alpro (lots of stuff in tesco shops/online) does big range, yogurts, milkshakes and all sorts, and we get stuff called "swedish glace" dairy free ice cream black hexagonal tub reasonable price tesco, morrisons etc, it comes in vanilla, choc or strawb. tastes yummy. vitalite marg is dairy free and is fine in cooking baking etc. we've managed to have a totally normal diet by making stuff like pancake batter (easy) with goats milk instead of cows. likewise custard with just the yellow powder stuff and sugar and goats milk boiled up in a pan. don't want to go on but wud luv to help u!!

hey! you're well on to it. hehe i found a dairy-free korma sauce couple of weeks ago in tesco but it was in the massive shop not our local one. ds1&2 both loved it.go on,try discover a bit of easy cookin it's not that hard, i do some bits and my kids join in too. we keep makin sauces from mushrooms, leeks, courgettes etc just cooked in a pan with bit of oil or marg then hit them with the hand blender...now there's a bit of kit we couldn't do without.make a load n freeze in ice trays? oh yes we get pitta breads and they make their own "pizzas" with passata, goats cheese grated on (we get delamere hard goats cheese), and they artistically arrange their own veg n stuff on top.only takes few minutes, under grill, 4yr old thinks it fab. mbe bit of time b4 your ds gets round to that but nothin like bein prepared!! we find that the 'economy' versions of cake, ginger buns, jam tarts, crumpets and stuff haven't got any milk in them but the xpensive ones do!!morrisons bettabuy and tesco value bring it on. even jaffa cakes!happy label checking -lol how much of my life do i spend readin labels?! unofficially thorntons plain choc easter egg has no milk products in,but they wont go on record as dairy free.my lot wr fine with it. nice to know they can still get treats like evry1 else. oh, a last thought (promise i'll shut up in a mo)presume u know u can freeze goats milk, we also freezer-stash the milk, and custard, batter etc(our freezer has some very odd lookin ice cubes in it)so always there when you've no time to prepare or just need a tiny bit for a tiny person!

DD on totally dairy free diet. Alpro yoghurts are good, Vitalite spread is dairy free too. Look at all ingredients of everything you buy - there are milk derivatives in suprising places.

Green & Black's Organic Dark chocolate has no dairy in

I found it difficult at first, but now dealing with DD's allergies is second nature. We use as much fresh food as possible when cooking for DD.

Your DS will qualify for soy frula n prescription as he is under two. DD's dietician has said that regular soy milk does not have enouh nutrients in for children below this age.

DD can't have any milk (cow, sheep or goats) unfortunately. I think I would request a referal to a dietician - DD's has helped us massively with information and advice.

i mentioned the soya formula too- my eldest has to have iron supplements now cos he cant get enuf in his food even tho he eats meat. trouble with soya is that u cant cook with it so goats is your answer

Yep - I agree. I apologise for presuming total dairy-free diet. I would be happy if DD could drink goats or sheeps milk. Good luck.

oh- and yet another thing. i've recently discovered tesco direct cos i had no car for a bit, (yeah i'm not in this century) for our huge orders of soya milkshakes, goats milk, dairy-free biscuits etc cos it's all heavy stuff. i'm hooked, will defo do that again. search alpro and 'dairy free' and stuff turns up on the screen. why oh why didn't i suss this out sooner?!
