Allergies and intolerances

What am I allergic to, if anything?

So for the past few months I have been getting the following symptoms either some or all of them, intermittently:

  • itchy back of throat
  • itchy eyes
  • lots of sneezing (like right now cos I used my tongue to scratch the back of my throat)
  • waking up in early hours with runny nose and have to blow it really hard

It all looks like an allergy so I had my bloods tested at the docs. Came back as a slight allergy to household dust and cats. Now I've lived with both for years so why now? Also, I can do the dusting and stick my face in my cat and it doesn't affect me. And like now, I've been out all day in the fresh air and felt really sneezy when I came home.
On holiday in USA in a camper van for three weeks and I still got the symptoms on and off.
On a girlie weekend sleeping in a bunk house with synthetic duvet and pillow, I got the midnight sneezes again.
When we go away in our own camper van - no cats, feather duvets or dust (coz I'm really house proud about it) and I still sometimes get it.
There is no rhyme nor reason to it so if anyone, anywhere has any ideas please, please, please tell me so I can get some relief.
Oh and hay fever tablets and allergy tablets don't help.

I'm at start of menopause - could it be related?

Allergies can change over time. Hormonal change can have an effect too.
For me, dust causes the symptoms you've described.
Do you have flowers in the house? Use aerosol deodorant or perfume?

No, no flowers, never use aerosol and stopped using perfume whilst pregnant about 14 years ago.
Have read up on some stuff that there is a link between histamine and menopause but science cannot explain why.

I'm exactly the same, had it for 15 years.
If I'm tired and run down the slightest hint of dust or cats will set me off. When I'm 100% I tolerate both well.

Try a nasal spray like Flixonase, or a different antihistamine. I defenitely sounds like an allergy.
