Ginger allergy anyone? Bumps on hands after peeling a bulk of ginger!

Hi,

Was preparing some ginger I usually buy it in bulk and then peel and freeze. however, some other family member does the peeling etc.

Today I did it and ended up with two small raised bumps. took an antihistamine. does this mean i am allergic to ginger. I normally add it to curries and am fine when I eat it?

whats going on?
