Has anyone used Nanny Infant formula? Is it any good?

I used it for ds because I didn't wabt to give him cows' milk formula (no known allergies, just paranoia). Ds was fine on it. It's smelly, so the baby doesn't have that gorgeous sweet breath with it and the poos are slightly smellier too. But that's compared to bf babies, I don't know what cow ff babies smell like.

Bf poos smell so much nicer - just like yogurt! Cows milk formula poos are very stinky.

My DS is on high energy cm formula (had reflux which caused a learned food aversion and subsquently FTT - long story) at the moment. I gave him expressed bm until he was 4.5 months old (he never really latched on - another long story!)then he went on to the high cal stuff to catch up with his weight gain. He had a little bit of eczema on his forehead when he had bm but it got significantly worse when he had the formula. I think it is cows milk related and I think his consultant does too but says he is too old now to go on to neocate because it doesn't taste very good. My big bro had eczema as a child and it responded really well when he had goats milk instead of cows milk. Wondered if Nanny formula would help but a bit cautious about using it because it isn't high calorie and not licensed in this country yet. Think I will speak to his consultant about it when we see him next month. Maybe it is something he could go on when his weight gain is satisfactory.

About Nanny Formula... When I was researching formulas for DS (very allergic child) the only thing that put me off it was that it had not been suplemented with extra vitamins and other things babies that have not been weaned need. I believe that's the reason why is no longer sold as a "formula" but as an "infant milk".

HOWEVER I have seen many good comments from mums who have used it and their babies are fine and thriving.

There is also the price factor, is quite expensive when compared to other formulas.

Elibumbum, I don't know how old is your child but Neocate Advance now comes in banana flavour, I have tasted it and it's miles better than the regular Neocate. It tastes like a banana milkshake.

It was released less than 6m ago so many doctors don't know yet of it's existance, but definitively worth a try.

have also heard of many parents who find goats milk better for their children than cows milk. Unfortunately the formula isn't now considered suitable for young babies but it's still useful for older ones who have problems on cows milk.

If the problem is milk allergy, though, you need a non milk formula. Interested to know about the banana neocote, sounds good.

i have used it on three of mine - ds4 is chubbing up nicely on it as i have stopped b/f ing him now so he is on nanny.
its expensive but nice non- smelly - non glucosey and agrees with my dc's in all ways. I recommend it!

I saw the dermo today with DS. He now thinks that DS is probably allergic to cows milk - so has arranged for a blood test for next week.

Chandra - DS is 8.5 months old. Thanks for the tip about Neocate advance - I will raise it with the gastroenterologist at our next appt - we will have the test results back by then too.
