my 15 month old had/has moderate excema, i say had because for the last 3-4 months its been mild and only flared up in the hot weather. but winter is coming and i am not sure what to expect. the GP says maybe i should consider a humidifier before central heating season kicks in. anyone used one?

any recommendations.

Not heard the one about humidifiers before but you never know! Heat makes eczema worst also rubbing the skin generates heat so avoid rubbing. Quite often babies grow out of eczema but could have flare ups later on in life, my youngest had it as a baby and has only just recently had a re-occurence (he is five years old) there is an association between eczema, asthma and hayfever so sometimes other things manifest later. Also if they suffer from any of these thay are more likely to get verrucaes and empitigo its referred to as being atopic!Just one of lifes little mysteries

instead of a humidifier, stick a wet towel on the radiator before you put em down for the night.
Also good if they have a cold as it stops them getting gunked up.
