Well, tbh I thought she probably had as DH inadvertently gave her cake a few months ago and she was fine so she's had stuff with cooked egg in since then, but today had skin prick testing and despite reacting to the negative and positive controls she had NO reaction to egg. So we can now give her a food challenge which I'm almost certain is going to be fine! She is soooo chuffed that now she can have cakes etc at nursery...and no more lugging epipens and piriton around...yippee!!

Thats fantastic news
How old is your ds and how severe were her reactions?

thats great!
i didn't know allergies could go away. ds2 was allergic to dogs, does this mean theres hope for a dog as a pet in the future?

did your dd get tested on the nhs?

That's great news, it's such a relief not to have to carry that stuff around all the time - I still have a bottle of piriton in my handbag though!
My ds grew out of his at about 5 years old. He could cope with eggs cooked in caked etc . He still says eggs make his nose itch but atleast they no longer make him swell to three times his normal size and collapse on the floor.

That is good news. We found out a couple of months ago the my DS has an egg allergy - awful evening!! He can tolerate cakes and biscuits but not eggy eggs IYSWIM!! We were told at the time that he would be likely to grow out of it but it's nice to hear it first hand.

She had been cows milk and soy intolerant since birth (and has now also grown out of that), then had an anaphylactic reaction when her lovely kind mummy tried to give her scrambled eggs when weaning...oops...Was about 7 months old at the time I think.
Cheeryface - think it is very common for children to grow out of allergy to eggs/milk etc. Nut allergy I think is less likely, and no idea about dogs!
I'm currently waiting for no.2 to arrive so hopefully no more allergies!!

Wonderful!
Does it happen often?
Must be a nightmare for you parents with allergic kids.
I have a friend with such a bad peanut allergy that she can't travel to SE Asia as she wants to because they use peanut oil in everything/

Well done, my dd has also outgrown hers
We were militant about non exposure from 17 mths to 3.5 years and she is fine now, we still confine her mostly to baked goods but she does like eggs and often dips her toast into our eggs, with no effects whatsoever.
DD has not other allergies btw

That is great news. At what age did your child outgrow hte egg allergy ? My DD is 5.5 and I was really hopeful she would have outgrown it by aged 5 but not so far. She was just tested last month (skin) and it appears to be the same/bad as ever

Great to hear a happy story though !

My DD1 also outgrew milk allergy. At 6mths she had a severe anaphalyactic reaction - the non-breathing variety - and her consultant said she would never grow out of it - but by age 3 she had. She still has egg white allergy (she's nearly 5) but I'm optimistic that she might outgrow that too. She's recently developed peanut allergy but it only makes her sick so I don't need epipens.

My 2 subsequent children don't appear to have any food allergies
