CMPI formula refusal

Yesterday my 17 week old son was diagnosed with cmpi and was prescribed Nutramigen. He refuses to drink it and went 7 hours yesterday without food. I've mixed it with other formula and he'll only drink it at a 33% Nutramigen ratio. I've read about people putting Nesquik and vanilla in which I'm unsure about (not adverse to it as I just want his symptoms to get better). I've thought about putting some banana in the formula while it's really warm to flavor then taking it out before I feed. I can't see any problem with this but have probably missed a reason why this isn't a good idea. What are your thoughts?

Do you have a dietician?

How about placing the healthy start drops inside and these are banana flavoured.

Oh I'm so sorry . Keep in close contact with the hospital - they will want to help .
Please don't do nesquik etc - he could react to that .

I would give him it mixed to the 33% then, and gradually, over days to weeks, increase the ratio of Nutramigen. Agree with avoiding flavouring it where possible - the poor mite may be on it for a while so better to get used to it.

Dd loved it, not sure what that says about my bm....!

It took my daughter a few weeks to drink Nutramigen - to be fair it does smell and taste horrid. Just keep trying and slowly up the ratio. Now she is two and I'm trying to move her to coconut milk - and he begs for the Nutramigen! Sigh. I agree with others, don't add anything else as you will then just have to wean her off of that.
