question about eczema

Hi. My 1 year old son has eczema and has done since birth. We are using proppaderm 1 in 10 (10% propaderm mxed with 90% white soft parraffin in 500g tub), elocon once a week, trimovate for the face as and when required, and cetraben emollient which i apply about 2-3 times daily. All these were prescribed by the Dermatologist. His skin has improved but is still very unpridictable. One day it could be ok, jsut the odd patch, then the next he could be head to toe with eczema, it's so frustrating. One good thing though, he isn't miserable with it. It has been worse with the heat.
I am thinking of trying something different such as reflexology, using aloe vera and possibly acupunture (is this safe for a baby)?
I really want him off steroid creams once and for all as I am worrying about it thinning the skin, especially in the hot weather.
Has anyone tried natural remedies and do they work? I feel as if he is going to be on steroid creams forever.
Thanks

No advice on natural remedies etc, but a bit of encouragement. It sounds like your ds has a similar problem to mine. His flared up soon after birth and got really bad at about 8 months in the hot weather. He is now 4.2 and is mostly free of it. The heat does still aggravate it (as does sunscreen) but it is rarely a big problem. Hopefully your ds will grow out of it soon.
