Burger King Chips - ok for coeliacs?

HI
I've been looking at some websites and am getting a few mixed messages. It seems that burger king chips are gluten free but my coeliac daughter has stomach pains today and the only thing i can think of is she had BK chips on sunday as she thought these were "safe". Does anyone else have any experience with this?

thank you

According to the BK Website they do contain gluten.

In fact what the website says is that the fries themselves don't contain gluten but there's a risk of cross-contamination from the fryers which probably means they use the same fryers for gluten-containing products such as onion rings. Sadly this means a definite no-no for coeliacs and anyone allergic to things like wheat. Hope your DDs's tummy is better soon (my DD is coeliac too). For furture reference, McDonald's fries are fine as they have separate fryers for their fries so no cross-contamination.

Thank you very much. Oh dear - something else for her to cross off the list although she has been very good with it all (she is 13 and was diagnosed in February). She we knew about McDonalds but I think she thought burger king was the same.

Thanks again.

Hard isn't it? My DD is 11 and was diagnosed 18mths ago. She's handled it really well but still gets upset occasionally at the unfairness of it all, like in Spain this summer when we ordered drinks and they brought out tapas - it was pizza, her favourite, and a for a second she forgot and reached for a slice then realised she couldn't and burst into tears :( Felt so sorry for her.
