Ok so this might seem an unlikely tale for Mumsnet, being about a couple of blokes with 7 marriages between them. I bought it for my Dad (who's about the same age Cook & Moore would be now) after reading a rave review in The Sunday Times. I'm going to have to get him another copy because it's riveting, hilarious and heartbreaking. It is a beautifully written account of a friendship that created the best, most iconic comedy for 2 decades, but that was ultimately destroyed by drink and rivalry. So that's my Xmas shopping done ... wink

Thanks BeerTricks. Harry Thompson's book is brilliant. This one has a different feel and tells a different kind of story.
