I don't have it yet, but I know I am going to want to talk about it.
Amazon are sending it - I had to buy a paper copy rather than Kindle so I can give it to people and make them read it.
So.... yeah.

Am patiently waiting too...
Kindle version was about £9 yesterday and is £3.50 today.
I can afford £3.50.
I'll have the instant version for me and the paper one to make DP read it - he likes Caitlin in the paper.
I read an extract in the paper this weekend. I am going to buy it.
I do love Caitlin. She is exactly the same age as me, I bloody loathed her when she was writing for the Times at 16 and I was living in Ilfracombe thinking that life was shit. It would be very interesting to see how her life's opinions were formed.
Plus (I have mentioned this all over MN but I am so pleased) Caitlin M emailed me 2 weeks ago in response to that abortion thread and the 2007 article of hers I referenced. So now I love her even more!
God, I think I love her.

Oh what a brilliant article. I'll order the book.
I do like Caitlin. Didn't she used to hang around here? Does she still?

"You must never confuse The Man with the men. The Man is a shadowy mother** trying to keep us all down with regular application of The Patriarchy. The men, on the other hand, are those guys you know who are nice to snuggle up with, and are good at heavy lifting. Theyre very different."
I like that bit

i liked what she said about the way in which men's lives could also be improved by feminism and the distinction between The Man and men. It's something that's rarely covered imo. Like the idea of trying to reach out to women who wouldn't dare to call themselves feminists usually.
I didn't know that GetOrf - probably because I avoided that abortion thread. Well done! It was huge by the time I realised it was an interesting intelligent thread rather than the usual.
Do you still think it'll be £3.50 on Friday? I've been looking forward to reading it for ages and Friday is payday.
Apologies, £3.78. No idea why Kindle prices do this, or maybe I was just looking at it wrong.

Wow Getorf that is impressive. Which thread? Was it the one you started? II'm going to be back and see what you said now! Did she read the thread on MN and see that you'd referenced her?
She replied to me on Twitter once. [proud] She said 'I'm not going to take advice on my marriage from a man wh calls himself after a sex act.'

Ah, love the Kindle, I got an email at 1am saying "your book will magically appear very soon"

I fucking love her. I follow her on twitter & she regularly has me in stitches. Sadly don't get paid for two weeks so will have to hang on till then. I started reading the extracts but had to stop as I want to read the book all in one go.
I told her that I loved her on twitter yesterday and she didn't reply. <<sulks>>
If you had 90k followers you wouldn't either. This is why you need to follow lots of non-celebs on Twitter - to get some proper interactivity.

Apparently "my Amazon order has dispatched". Looking forward to getting it!
Why oh why am I at work instead of reading my new book?
<yes I know I am MNing but I can do that while sitting at a desk looking at a computer>
(and yes I could be working but I am leaving soon and so not being given any new work, so my workload is decreasing daily, I won't be on here as much at all once I start new job)

this was GetOrf's thread
How exciting that she e-mailed you! That article on abortion was extremely important journalism IMO...
I have ordered the book and it is on its way to me now - should get it early next week...I too wanted a real copy, even though it cost more to send it than the price of the book, AND I have a Kindle
Can't wait...
Kindle version still only £3.78... you culd join me in having one for keeping and one for sharing
I've read the article that's in that thread and found it very... sensible.
I was going to say I found it moving, but actually sensible is a better word. Let's approach these things sensibly.
