I really really enjoyed 'Chronicles' it was full of such juicy and rewarding prose. It made me want to go back and read 'Moab is my washpot'. I wonder when the sequel is out?
Anyone else reading/read this?

Just finished it. And although I love Stephen with a passion, this book is far too self indulgent.

I'm reading it at the moment - I found I empathised instantly with him, and very quickly started to get to know him...still not that far thriough it, so I'll report back when I'm finished!

I am reading it now and love it. Finding it a quick read for a normally slow reader! Just like you I wanted MOAB too. So have pointed it out to DH as a Christmas gift

I have only read the first two chapters, but finding it very interesting. I was surprised to learn he was in prison as an adolescent after running away and commiting credit card fraud.

A friend was talking about how offended she was at some comments SF made about women, also a discussion about it on mn - was it in an interview or quoted from his latest book?

I was a bit disapointed with it - agree with schroeder that it's rather self-indulgent. However, it did leave me really looking forward to the next volume - sounds like that's when things get really interesting!

I thought Moab is my Washpot a better read than Chronicles tbh...

I much preferred MOAB as his childhood and adolescence were fascinating. I thought the latest one was a bit disappointing and had too much name-dropping. Still I suppose that is the reality of his adult life.

Wow I didn't realise how old this thread was! Seems this sub-forum doesn't get much traffic.
