Luckily I've just checked my wish list on Amazon today and two books I've had on for ages have come down to 99p...

Perfect by Rachel Joyce

Life after life by Kate Atkinson

I haven't read either of these but have read good recommendations on here about them.

BabeRuthless Sat 16-Nov-13 18:47:18

I've just had a proper hand flapping excitement moment when I saw these. Also got Waiting for Wednesday by Nicci French.

myflabberisgasted Sat 16-Nov-13 19:06:20

Haha I did the same!

I've read the first one of hers and enjoyed it so I'll buy that one now and wait to get Tuesday one as well thanks for that! smile

SpencerPercival Sat 16-Nov-13 19:07:35

Both most excellent books. Enjoy.

SpencerPercival Sat 16-Nov-13 19:08:22

Also read the other typist. That's good. And Sathnam sangheras "marriage material ". Still probably ££

myflabberisgasted Sat 16-Nov-13 19:15:44

Thanks Spencer... I've added those two to my wish list. They are still quite expensive at the moment and I'm a cheapskate haha!

Trumpton Sat 16-Nov-13 19:29:17

Thank you . Just ordered Perfect and Waiting For Wednesday.

CandyLoo Sat 16-Nov-13 20:30:55

Thanks, I've downloaded Kate Atkinsons new one, and told all my friends!
When you say wish list, do you mean the normal amazon wish list or is there a specific kindle one?

SpencerPercival Sat 16-Nov-13 20:36:19

Also beautiful ruins.
The ten lives if Hattie (or whatever ) loved

myflabberisgasted Sat 16-Nov-13 20:37:10

I just meant my usual amazon wish list.
I have two pages worth of books on my wish list I just refuse to pay over £5 for a book!
I check it almost daily incase they come down in price and they almost never do, so today to have found two on my list were 99p was like Christmas Day!!

Feenie Sun 17-Nov-13 13:06:01

Have you seen this website? Someone recommended it on here:

uk.ereaderiq.com/

You import your wishlist and it emails you when the price of any of your books comes down, it's brilliant!

LIZS Sun 17-Nov-13 13:10:02

Great just got the KA. also Tangled Lives by Hilary Boyd is only 56p!

EATmum Sun 17-Nov-13 13:51:40

Thanks for the tip - just got the Kate Atkinson and recommended on to a few others.

UnicornsPooGlitter Sun 17-Nov-13 14:07:25

myflabberisgasted Sun 17-Nov-13 14:23:00

Thanks Feenie I've never heard of that website before that sounds brilliant! smile

MrsBungleScare Sun 17-Nov-13 14:24:10

I got my sisters keeper (Bill Bremmer?) the other night for 38p.

Lurleene Sun 17-Nov-13 14:29:45

Thanks, I don't have a Kindle but I have looked on the UK NOOK website and they are the same price on there too.

Galaxymum Mon 18-Nov-13 18:16:20

Feenie Fri 22-Nov-13 10:53:37

myflabberisgasted Sat 23-Nov-13 19:02:05

Thanks Feenie. Just downloaded stolen... Sounds good!

ctrlaltdel Sun 24-Nov-13 18:21:52

I just saw the Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey at 99p today.

Feenie Sun 24-Nov-13 18:25:07

Thanks, have bought it smile

bishbashboosh Sun 24-Nov-13 19:11:50

Aw no I have missed those!shock

Lurleene Wed 27-Nov-13 16:48:48

I finished reading this last night and it only cost 35p! It was only released in hardback in April.

The Emergence of Judy Taylor.

It's about a woman who leaves her husband in search of a happier life, and explores the effect this has on both her and those around her. I enjoyed it and would recommend it - it's certainly worth a try at that price.

Feenie Wed 27-Nov-13 18:01:42

Thanks, have snapped up!

Tangled Lives by Hilary Boyd is 56p atm - quite enjoyed it, found it on a par with her other one Thursdays in the Park.

MrsDavidBowie Wed 27-Nov-13 18:04:52

Perfect by Rachel Joyce is superb...really loved it.

Feenie Wed 27-Nov-13 18:13:27

Me too - even more than Harold Fry - but at £7.60 it's hardly a bargain! grin

Kiss Me First is down to £1.00

gingganggooly Fri 29-Nov-13 11:25:23
Lurleene Wed 11-Dec-13 16:04:19

myflabberisgasted Fri 13-Dec-13 13:09:40

I've not read it but I love her stuff.

wrenster Sat 14-Dec-13 08:36:00

Thanks very much. I've just downloaded it as I love her books

DuchessofMalfi Sat 14-Dec-13 08:41:00

Becoming Johnny Vegas currently £1.99. I love a good autobiography, and am fascinated by how people have made a career of being comedians, so had to buy this one.

katb1973 Fri 20-Dec-13 01:36:30

The Goldfinch and The Little Friend by Donna Tartt are now £1.99 and £1.89 respectively. Been waiting ages for the first to go down!

Coveredinweetabix Fri 20-Dec-13 01:42:21

Does anyone know what happens if you buy a book and then cancel the download? I did that today and now can't find the book to re-download it. Is there any hope?
Thanks

highlandcoo Fri 20-Dec-13 08:00:47

The Goldfinch and The Little Friend by Donna Tartt are now £1.99 and £1.89 respectively

Thank you katb! I'm going to give The Little Friend a miss as I still remember DH spending a whole holiday ploughing through it and complaining constantly how dull it was. Not that he is always right about books, but it has put me off tbh.

Have rushed to buy The Goldfinch as I've heard only great things about it smile

ButThereAgain Fri 20-Dec-13 08:10:18

Thank you katb! I've never run so quickly from one website to another. I've been waiting for Goldfinch to come down.

Rather stupidly I decided to buy The Little Friend too even though I already have it on the old mashed-up trees format.

Lurleene Fri 20-Dec-13 09:30:50

Lots of price drops today including David Mitchell's autobiography, Cuckoo's Calling, Inferno, new Bridget Jones, all at 1.99. Sarah's Key is 99p too.

Prawntoast Fri 20-Dec-13 09:43:44

Latest Rebus novel is also 2.99.

DuchessofMalfi Fri 20-Dec-13 12:57:05

I bought The Goldfinch - love Donna Tartt's novels, and hope this one's as good. Also bought the Bridget Jones one, just hope it doesn't disappoint because it's so long since I read the first two.

Daren't go to Amazon now in case I find more books I want grin

Bubblegoose Sat 21-Dec-13 00:13:26

OOh, thanks katb. The Little Friend is one of the most amazing books I've read, am really keen to read Goldfinch.

katb1973 Sat 21-Dec-13 05:03:41

Another tip....AM Homes on special for 99p for some of her books. Love her too! X

Prawntoast Sat 21-Dec-13 09:21:42

For DC with Kindles, all Lemony Snicket on the daily deal today.

CoteDAzur Sat 21-Dec-13 11:28:42

What do we think about The Passage by Justin Cronin? I vaguely remember reading about it on here.

Kasterborous Sat 21-Dec-13 11:55:13

Thanks Prawntoast just got the new Rebus one for my Mum, as she likes them. We share my kindle account so we can both read all the books I buy or ones my Mum wants to buy.

CoteDAzur Sat 21-Dec-13 12:21:09

Just realised that The Epigenetics Revolution is £0.99, if anyone is interested.

Beechview Sat 21-Dec-13 17:09:52

Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn is £1.49 Bridget Jones Mad About the Boy is £1.99. I'm thinking about whether to buy that one or not. I think most people find it disappointing. Sorry about lack of paragraphs - my return key is not working!

Lurleene Fri 27-Dec-13 09:52:08

Morrissey's autobiography has just gone down to £1.99.

RabbitPies Fri 27-Dec-13 11:11:43

Thank you Cote. Just bought The Epigenetics Revolution.

TortillasAndChocolate Fri 27-Dec-13 11:16:28

I got a kindle for Christmas after my last one broke in August, so watching this thread excitedly

BabeRuthless Fri 27-Dec-13 12:00:39

MadAddam by Margaret Atwood has gone down to 99p, know there's a few fans of hers on here. Without sounding like too much of a Scrooge and I do love a bargain as much as the next person, I can't help but think amazon shoot themselves in the foot sometimes. Doctor Sleep is 4.99 and I really want it but at the back of my mind is the lingering doubt that it'll go down by a couple of pound more at some point. All this price cutting does devalue books I think. God knows how Waterstones survives.

Lurleene Sat 04-Jan-14 13:37:29

The kindle version of The Goldfinch is 99p on Amazon now.

I have picked up a couple of eBook bargains this morning from the Nook UK site ( ie ePub, not Kindle). I have been watching these in the hope they would come down and they did.

Love, Nina by Nina Stibbe

and
The Lives of Stella Bain by Anita Shreve

These were both 99p.

If anyone would prefer me to start a thread for non-Kindle eBooks please let me know and I will post any finds on there instead.

ophiotaurus Sat 04-Jan-14 13:52:54

Thanks! Just bought
The Goldfinch (currently reading A Secret History as recommended here and love it)
Life After Life
Tangled Lives
Watch Over Me
That's me sorted for a while!

Lurleene Sat 04-Jan-14 14:08:38

The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton is now 99p on both Kindle and Nook.

Lots of bargains today!

magimedi Sat 04-Jan-14 16:00:31

Kindle is stuffed with bargains at the moment.

I suppose it's because of all the new Christmas Kindles.

The latest Ian Rankin (Saints of the Shadow Bible) is 99p

DH has just bought the latest Michael Connelly & a Carl Hiassen.

Lots of the Booker listed books at 99p - too many to list but well worth a browse.

Lurleene Sun 05-Jan-14 00:00:27

One last bargain for today-

One Summer by Bill Bryson is 99p on Kindle and Nook.

StripyPenguin Sun 05-Jan-14 00:06:23

Lurleene thank you - I have wanted One Summer for ages now.

Lurleene Sun 05-Jan-14 00:09:25

My pleasure - I bought if for MIL as a Christmas present and it cost a lot more than 99p!

Today has been very fruitful, I have bought quite a few I have been waiting to get.

katb1973 Sun 05-Jan-14 09:21:35

Any Kent Haruf fans out there? His new book Benediction down to 99p...have waited ages for that one! X

funambulist Sun 05-Jan-14 18:15:23

Just bought the following kindle bargains:

Stoner £3.99
The Ocean at the End of the Lane 99p
The Luminaries 99p
One Summer by Bill Bryson 99p
The Rosie Project £2.99

Excellent value.

If anyone else is looking to buy kindle bargains I have read and enjoyed the following (all around 99p at the moment I think):

Harvest by Jim Crace,
Nothing to Envy,
Instructions for a Heatwave,
Life after Life.

JiltedJohnsJulie Sun 05-Jan-14 22:11:22

Have bought the Goldfinch but not read it yet. Just noticed that the Marrying of Chani Kauffman is 99p today as well.

minsmum Mon 06-Jan-14 18:47:45

The Amelia Peabody books by Elizabeth Peters , Agatha Raisin books by M C Beaton have mostly been reduced to 84p. If anyone is interested

Wolfcub Mon 06-Jan-14 19:06:24

Thank you for the Agatha Raisin and Bill Bryson tips

SuperScribbler Tue 07-Jan-14 11:16:51

Battle Hymn to the Tiger Mum is reduced to £1.59. it's been on my wishlist for a while.

CoteDAzur Tue 07-Jan-14 11:56:02

If anyone is interested, Music in the Castle of Heaven: A Portrait of Johann Sebastian Bach is £0.99 today. It was £12.99 last week grin

From the Amazon blurb: SIR JOHN ELIOT GARDINER is one of the world's leading conductors, not only of Baroque music but across the whole repertoire. He founded the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestra, the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Lyon, the English Baroque Soloists, and the Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique. He has conducted most of the world's great orchestras and in many of the leading opera houses.

It is very rare that such an accomplished performer of music should also be a considerable writer and thinker about it. John Eliot Gardiner takes us as deeply into Bach's works and mind as perhaps words can. The result is a unique book about one of the greatest of all creative artists.

Thurlow Tue 07-Jan-14 12:03:52

I've just bought loads too:

Unfashioned Creatures - some Gothic horror, 99p
Sword at Sunset - Arthurian story £1.19
Redemption Blues - crime thriller, 99p
Life After Life by Kate Atkinson, 99p
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, 99p

Hadn't realised there was so much good stuff reduced at the moment! There were some free ones too that looked ok. I do like the odd bit of Mills & Boon type romantic crap, but most of the free ones are really rubbish (or at least so badly edited they set my teeth on edge).

StripyPenguin Tue 07-Jan-14 17:20:37

To the Letter is 99p at the moment, it's by Simon Garfield.

Coveredinweetabix Tue 07-Jan-14 17:26:31

Are you just getting these from the Kindle Daily Deal pages or do you browse through all of the available book? I can feel my fingers twitching to buy some more despite currently having 30 unread books. I've only had my kindle 7 weeks & love it. I have read some utterly random thibfs due to them being just 99p

SuperScribbler Tue 07-Jan-14 18:39:39

I have an amazon wishlist that I upload to ereaderiq and the site emails me when titles drop in price. It saves me time and effort, but does mean I probably buy far too many "bargain" books.

Lurleene Wed 26-Feb-14 17:36:09

Thanks, have now bought The Shock of the Fall.

I really appreciate it when people point out the good stuff on the Kindle daily deals - have had a lot of bargains that way.

I have a reading list as long as my arm now - no idea how I'm going to get through it!

addle Fri 28-Feb-14 15:22:02

yes, thank you. you spot loads of things i miss - is great public service

NellVarnish Fri 28-Feb-14 15:36:30

Oh thank you! Just bought The Shock of the Fall not that I need anymore books.

Oh oh. Just bought The Cuckoo's Calling too - didn't realise Robert Galbraith was JKR.

Halsall Fri 28-Feb-14 19:28:12

Just in case anyone's been hovering, hoping that this will appear as a bargain, Denise Mina's latest, 'The Red Road', is £2.54. It was 99p yesterday - can't quite get my head round the thinking at Kindle sometimes - but even the higher price is still well worth it.

She's a wonderful writer and I've been stalking 'The Red Road' for ages! Hooray!

myflabberisgasted Wed 12-Mar-14 21:21:55

The Cuckoos calling by Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowling) is 99p at the moment. I've read this and loved it!
