Im holding out to pay day next week, but was it good. I think the trailers look much better than Twilight, which I liked but didnt love.

But come on spill the beans....Please, you wont be giving anything away, but did they get it right with what scenes theve put in.

Flame Sat 21-Nov-09 10:47:11

I was bored

They showed pretty much all the action in the trailers.

Jacob with shirt off in the rain did help though....

Most of the friends i was with were a bit meh btw too. Soooo glad we didn't queue down the street to get in (bumped into an old school friend working there and managed to skip the queue - thought we were going to be lynched by hysterical 14yr olds )

moonmother Sat 21-Nov-09 10:54:05

I thought they could have done better too.

The cinema was full of rampant teenage hormones - Dp and Me sat their in hysterics everytime they swooned at bare chested shots or Jacob and Edward.

I was glad I got a Edward visual fix thowink

Flame Sat 21-Nov-09 11:26:44

The swooning and cheering all got a bit much - very loud laughing at not desperately funny one liners was a bit hmm

I did at the cheer when Jacob first took his shirt off

I've heard nothing but "meh" reviews of the film.
The films have a lot to live up too - the books are so well loved and seriously studied by Twihards fans.
I heard they had added lots of extra RPattz in things like Bella's dream sequences just to keep the shitty little teens audience happy.

<<TeamEd wanders off, mumbling jealousy of younger, prettier girls...>>

GypsyMoth Sat 21-Nov-09 11:37:31

might take them all tomorrow..have a babysitter for the little ones so may as well get it over with

mollyroger Sat 21-Nov-09 11:39:04

I have a horrible feeling I will be giving this a miss after all. I loved the books, but am feeling more and more 'meh' at the idea of seeing the film tbh...haven't read one good review yet.

Flame Sat 21-Nov-09 11:39:42

There is one bit where they clearly cut a scene and didn't think about the continuity too - a line makes no sense whatsoever hmm

<picky>

TeamEdward Sat 21-Nov-09 11:41:32

What was it Flame?

Haven't seen film yet, but don't mind a spoiler.

Flame Sat 21-Nov-09 11:45:23

Edward says that he came in through the window, so it didn't matter that her dad said he wasn't setting foot in the door (and the rest of their conv tbh)... but there had been no dad scene at all and the whole conv was a bit "eh?"

TeamEdward Sat 21-Nov-09 11:50:26

They cut Charlie??

He's the most humourous character in the books!! I'm re-reading Eclipse and PMSL when he's driving Bella and Edward to graduation in his police car, and makes Eddie sit in the back behind the perspex, and he can't stop grinning!!

Flame Sat 21-Nov-09 11:56:49

he's in it, but not the scene they are talking about

Stigaloid Sat 21-Nov-09 12:04:39

I was definitely meh about it. I thought it really slow paced.

sherby Sat 21-Nov-09 17:16:37

Ok I went this afternoon

Bella seemed to be embarrased to be in the film the whole way through. Why does she talk constantly with her hand/fingers over her mouth? It feels like she knows how cheesy the whole thing is and can't let herself go hmm

Jacob carries the whole film, he was very good.

Special effects MUCH better than Twilight, they actually mangaed to make Edward glitter this time grin

Volturi very very good and I though v well casted

Anyway I liked it much better than twilight, Edward actually smiles occasionally and most importantly they cover most of the main points from the book, which Twilight woeful lacked

.

I haven't read the books but saw new moon this afternoon and liked it.

The cinema was empty as everyone else was cramed into the screening next door.I could imagine it would of been anoying if full of teens as there is alot of toplessness!

Flame - I know the bit you mean but Bella's dad had just come in and Edward had been hideing behind the door. I realise it may not make sense compared to the book but as a film sceen it followed though ok.

Did make me feel very old though sad

I'm seeing it next Weds with a friend, we've picked an evening showing in the hope there won't be any swooning teens grin

I'm not expecting an Oscar winner tbh, I'm purely going for my fix! But will come back & let you know what I think... if anyone's interested of course grin

Flame Sat 21-Nov-09 19:25:48

My friend hadn't read the book and was confused with the scene.

You really liked the Volturi? shock I liked Jane, but the rest just seemed like comedy vampires, I kept expecting dodgy accents with "I vant to drink your bloooooood"

sherby Sat 21-Nov-09 19:47:10

lol flame

I thought Aro was really good

carrieboo75 Sat 21-Nov-09 20:02:26

Surely any movie about vampies and warewolves is meant to be just light hearted entertainment wink

Flame Sat 21-Nov-09 20:07:55

shock Carriboo - how can you say such things?!?!

carrieboo75 Sat 21-Nov-09 20:20:54

blush
