Ha ha! Just dug around in the recycling, and found Grazia from weeks ago. It's called We Can't All Be Astronauts. My neighbour came out to help me as she thought I'd lost some money in there or something blush

Sounds vaguely like Toby Young 'The sound of no hands clapping'. But this is old and can't see why it would be in grazia review pages. And he was trying to be a screenwriter.

...please. It was in Grazia's review pages a couple of weeks ago, and it was a kind of "if you want a good laugh, read about x's struggle to be a writer as his friends all achieve success around him". Poss paperback. Please please tell me if you know, it has become a kind of mission to find it, and I have driven my local Waterstones crazy.
