I know on amazon you can buy books as little as 1p! So i went crazy and picked 14, mainly womens modern fiction and then a few for dh and a few for ds. However on getting to check out realised i had to pay 14 amounts of postage as they were all diff people selling them! Is there a website that would do the above and only pay one postage? Not ebay as same problem!

Try abebooks - I've got hold of a lot of books from there, both for me and for my mum too.

try readitswapit

Books are free for postage, but you have to swap old ones of yours back.

sunnygirl, it doesnt seem to be that you buy from one seller on that one....

stripeyknickers, do you have to have books ready to send back to them before you order? Can you send the same ones back??

You do need to have books ready.

If you find a book you want you have to swap directly with that person. The swap only happens if they want one of your books.

bookmooch is great as you don't have to swop books directly.

It works on a points basis and you get points for listing your books on your inventory, for sending books to people (more if you send overseas). Then you spend points to get books. You don't pay for postage when you get books, only when you send them.

Here it is

any sites that i DONT have to SWAP books anyone?
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By wotulookinat on Tue 11-Nov-08 19:55:40
Have you actually looked at any of the sites? On swapshop you don't HAVE to put any of your stuff up to swap - you can buy points through Paypal (1 point is 1 pence) and then 'buy' books using the points - postage is free.

Please think about using your public library to read modern fiction rather than buying secondhand.

If you buy secondhand the author gets not one single penny for you reading her work (which might have taken a year or so to write). IF you go to the library and get a book out for free, the author gets a small amount of money via the Public Lending Right--it's only pennies, but it can make a difference.

The average earnings for a newish novelist are just £6000 per annum...

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
