Please don't flame me, but am after some easy reading! Can anyone recommend any well-written, not too cringey chick lit (or even mum lit)?
Or anything easy going and funny (eg really loved The Common Reader)?

Second Joanna Trollope, Sophie Kinsella and the earlier Emily Barr books.

Try Christina Jones, particularly Jumping To Conclusions and the one about the greyhound. The later ones get a bit too silly with all the magic spells, though Heaven Sent has good characters.

I liked Jane Green for a while...but, then it just got too twee, and saccharine.

Lisa Jewel is slightly more edgy.

Catherine Alliot is okay...but, she's written too much. She's started emplying the same plot devices...I think in 3 separate books, she has the female protagonist adopting a faux accent, for a joke, but then is forced to continue in said faux accent, when she realises (to her horror) that the person she's speaking to, has the same accent hmm
