For anyone who has enjoyed these books, look away now and under no circumstances read questions one and two!

I have only read the first book after it being recommended on here but I'm angry

Have read them all so no surprise there, but why on earth aren't they filming it from the start? And who on earth is Tosh? just there for a bit of chemistry, how silly. And we all know Dougie H looks nothing like the lovely dark Jimmy!

I don't generally go for 'Big BBC Dramas' but saw the advert for this and didn't even recognise the programme as being the same as Ann Cleeves's Shetland Books, as the main character is nothing like the books as in the books he's of Spanish origin.

Also, isn't Cassie the daughter of Fran in the books, not Jimmy, or I am remembering that wrong?

Yes Gin she is Fran's daughter and has her own dad as I remember.
