Help! Novel lost on holiday

Hi. I was reading a terrific book yesterday - just started it. On my way to the airport I lost it. I cannot remember its title for the life of me. The story begins with an English lawyer defending a young boy who is accused of killing a younger boy in the park. The present narrative flows along with the lawyer's memory of his foster mother - Marnie (I think). I only began reading it two hours before I lost it and was hooked from the start.

Any ideas as to what the title might be?

I've read it, it's excellent. It's called 'The Guilty One' by Lisa Ballantyne - the link might work!
