No, no cake I did say to DH "I must pop to supermarket and get some eggs so I can make my birthday cake." And he said "No! You can't make your own cake!"
But no cake has appeared, so I might as well have made my own.

Team, I have a friend with whom we have a mutual cake-making pact, as otherwise we end up making our own/not having one at all. It's the only problem with being everyone's go-to cake baker.

I sent DH out to buy me a cake on my birthday this year. He'd originally gone to buy one but nothing was the right size, so not got anything at all!

In honour of your birthday, Team, I have opted not to cook tonight, and we have ordered a takeaway. Either that or I'm just a lazy cow.

In that case, I am leaving DH to clean the kitchen, even though he also cooked, in honour of your birthday. I may also eat something with chocolate in as part of the celebration. <ponders what else to do with this marvellous excuse>
