just had dc2 to add to a 2 year old. DH and I are looking forward to resuming our sex life although aware this could be challenging with two young children. To help us along our way I would like to read some erotic literature. I am aware that we are going to have limited time to wind each other up so to speak and want to get myself in the mood. Guess we have a pretty normal sex life so not looking for anything too tame, but nothing over the top either.
Grateful for suggestions please.................................

I haven't read Shades Of Gray but have just finished "Love....from both sides" on my kindle - very dirty and very funny - if it doesn't put you in the mood it will definitely make you smile. I enjoyed it so much I've just bought the inevitable sequel "Love...and sleepless nights".

Fanny Hill: Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure

Easily better than pretty much any other more modern stuff. Well written with a plot and very good.

Just a warning; I got the Anais , delta of Venus from recommendations on here and stupidly didn't read all the reviews on amazon. Rape and paedophilia (sp?) are really not my thing and I was actually quite shocked as obviously i hadn't been expecting that in the book.

Black Lace no longer exists, try Xcite. Whoever it was that wanted man-on-man action, they do a bit of that.

Or you could try this which I remember enjoying a few years ago.

But you can still download old Black Lace wink apparently.

Black Lace are relaunching in September (they might be interested to hear from you, alurk).

VickityBoo Thu 21-Jun-12 10:15:54

Ooh I used to love black lace! Especially the same lines as the shades series wink

Used to buy it in a shop in the town I worked in so no one recognised me lol.

Alurkatsoftplay Thu 21-Jun-12 20:42:41

'Oh my', bites lip. I didn't know that, Wearingpurple. I dunno if I can write it anymore tho'. I think I have lost my 'wa'.

Which ones did you used to read Vickity Boo? It's weird that even 5/6 years ago it was all hush hush...Now everyone on the train is openly reading 50 shades.

VickityBoo Thu 21-Jun-12 20:59:31

I can't recall titles I'm afraid. I tried to find them a while back but think I ebayed most of them. I bought them about 10yrs ago and I would have been horrified to have met someone I knew while purchasing lol. blush

I tended to go for the bdsm ones really. blush all embarrassed now lol.

Has this thread died out or has anyone more suggestions?

I'm happy to hear that Black Lace are relaunching, I have a couple of the Quickies books hidden in my knicker drawer and they really are very good grin

I am thinking of buying this www.amazon.com/The-Claiming-Sleeping-Beauty-ebook/dp/B003QP4DU4 after it was mentioned on the fifty shades thread. Has anyone read it?

wearingpurple Sat 23-Jun-12 20:30:39

I've read the Claiming of Sleeping Beauty but found it was just lots of strung-together spanking/sex scenes without any characters. It has a strange, flat sort of tone to it that didn't really rev my engine, I must admit.

Some Black Lace titles I have read and enjoyed:
On Demand by Justine Elyot
Asking for Trouble by Kristina Lloyd
Entertaining Mr Stone by Portia Da Costa
The Things That Make Me Give In by Charlotte Stein
The New Rakes by Nikki Magennis

There are more, but I can't think of them offhand.

VickityBoo Sat 23-Jun-12 21:17:58

wearingpurple I looked into the sleeping beauty books on google and saw the reviews weren't great. sad

Erotica's only good if I have to, er, break off for a bit while reading it.

How about Delta of Venus? Anais Nin, whence the Essex perfume Anais Anais I believe. But don't let that fackin' put you off.

If you like quickie stories, try Easily Aroused -- www.easilyaroused.co.uk. My iPad wouldn't be the same without his bookmark on it!!

There are some werewolf/shapeshifter M/M ones, they're part of the "Halle Puma" series by Dana Marie Bell. They're on the Kindle and are usually either free or dirt cheap.

I used to get all my erotic books on a adult website, like wearingpurple the new rakes and asking for trouble where good. My fave is cassandras conflict which has tones of bdsm. Black lace but i got it from www.lovehoney.co.uk

Try these...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pearl-Bill-Adler/dp/1562014102/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1344862926&sr=1-1

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Oyster-v/dp/1562015028/ref=sr_1_6?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1344863070&sr=1-6

The Oyser also has volumns 3-4 and 5-6...

Another lover of literotica here!

For ebooks also take a look at www.ellorascave.com. Lots of rubbish but some very well written erotica too.

Wearing purple, I just contacted black lace to ask if they might reissue one of mine. Haven't heard back yet. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the heads up.

Just read fifty shades and it was not as rude as I expected!

Here is my favourite one.

All feedback welcome.

AmaraDresden Thu 23-Aug-12 22:37:08

Alur, I'd love to know your pen name! I favour black lace too. Portia da Costa is a good author, and odalisque (cannot remember the author's name) was wonderful!

JustSpiro Thu 06-Sep-12 22:55:27

I've just read 'Bared to You' after finishing the Grey trilogy. I preferred it tbh, and there is a sequel due out in October.

A friend of mine has also recommended 'The Bride Stripped Bare', although I haven't investigated that yet.

Read 'Vox' years ago - was only thinking about it the other day - has some very interesting scenes. Have also got several Nancy Friday's although they are very American (nothing wrong with that, obviously - I just find some aspects of the vocabulary distract me from the 'essentials') and I find them quite dated these days.

There's always Delta of Venus, Anais Nin.....think she wrote more too but that's about all I've ventured into for now.....and Story of O, of course! Hmm....checking my shelves but doubt you'd be in to lesbian erotica? :-)
