I haven't read any of them so can't really help. But there is a website where you can put in the names of authors you like and it gives recommendations...in a circle, so those most similar would be nearest the centre while those not so much would be further out.
But I can't remember what it's called

The author of Sister also wrote 'Afterwards', which I really enjoyed. Haven't read Sister yet, but it's on my shelf.

I'm reading Afterwards at the moment - only on chapter 8 so no spoilers please!!
great I'll have a look at that webpage!
Really enjoyed Sister and Into the Darkest Corner. Have you read Room by Emma Donoghue? One of my fave recent reads.

No I've not read it but I will definitely look at getting it now - do you know if you can get it on the kindle?

Yes you can, and I think it is one of those books that's cheaper on kindle than paperback

I am reading Cuckoo at the moment, only just started it, but it seems quite good. I would say Sophie Hannah and Dorothy Koomson are quite similar.
If you like Sophie Hannah you should definitely read Jane Hill's Cant Let Go. It's similar to a Hannah plot but Hill's writing is much better.
Perhaps give A Cold Season by Alison Littlewood a try OP. It's about a young widow who realises the new man in her life may be dangerous to her and her son.
