Ok it's a love story
It follows the stories of 3 ish people during different eras
That are all interconnected
One story involves two men crossing Siberia to escape from a prison camp
One story starts with a young couple in s America and there is a bus crash and his girlfriend is killed
It was such an amazing book and I would love to read it again but cannot remember the title or the author
Can anyone help.?
Many thanks x

Oh yes I read this. It's called Random Acts of Heroic Love by Danny Scheinmann. I really enjoyed it. x

I think that was the book i thought was going tp be good and hated. Did it have something about chopping off willies at the beginning?
Five Go Mad With Severed Penises by Enid Blyton.

I think you might be thinking of Members Of The Secret Seven- Where Are They Now?, Linerunner.

Oh, this is annoying me now! I know the book and can't remember the title.
Random Acts of Heroic Love does start with the bus crash as you describe, but I think the two men travelling across Siberia having escaped from a prison camp happens in a different book. Just can't remember the name!
Piebald, yes, don't they come across a strange community where people castrate themselves voluntarily? Also, do you remember the idea that men escape in pairs so that one becomes the other one's "pig" - it's not possible for them to carry enough food to survive the journey, so the stronger one eventually kills and eats the other.
A memorable but quite grim read
The Siberian bit sounds like "The Peoples Act of Love" by James Meek

finished!.. interesting story, the castration stuff actually makes it more interesting once you research it a bit more, had a quick flick today on wikipedia! nice to learn a bit about russian history, and always like a good horse in any story. over too soon tho, back to a series for me!
