Hi there,

I've just found out my sons social worker (who has supported us both amazingly throughout the process even though it's not strictly her job to support birth mums) is leaving for pastures new. I'd like to get her a small gift to say thanks and to wish her good luck, just don't know what to get her so suggestions on a post card would be grand.

Cheers

What about a hand written letter saying how much she's helped you and how much you appreciate her support. I'm sure that would be something she'd cherish for many years.

If you feel able to, send a letter to her manager too so it can be added to her file.

Her manager has already had an email stating my thanks etc. I sent it after she'd supervised our farewell contact.

I'm half tempted to be a cheeky sod and get her a "technology for dummies" book as a joke - her and technology really don't mix so well haha bless her.

I had thought a book of humourous quotes might be a nice idea... Inject some sanity into what I can only imagine can be gruelling days given her job.
