Good friends are on the cusp of adopting a 7 month old boy. I'd like to get them something special, & I wonder if anyone has any ideas? I was also wondering if there are any lovely poems or quotes that I could use too....but am conscious that I don't want to get it wrong....hence am asking your advice. I'm so chuffed & excited for them!!!

There are some lovely personalised baby gift on not on the high street. Wooden blocks engraved with baby's name or lovely baby blankets not sure if either fit the bill hope you find something lovely

my favourite which still brings me to tears is:

I didn't give you the gift of life,
But in my heart I know.
The love I feel is deep and real,
As if it had been so.

For us to have each other
Is like a dream come true!
No, I didn't give you
The gift of life,
Life gave me the gift of you.

And a card!!!

x

Good gifts we got were a very snuggly baby blanket with a pocket with a little cuddly toy. DS didn't much care but I loved it. Wooden name plate for his door, beautiful GAP clothes, mothercare vouchers (so nice to go into mothercare and not feel like a stalker).

I wasn;t much into poems at the time - too overwhelmed with not falling in love with DS at first sight, so no help there. But I did appreciate any kind of welcome baby type or congratulations cards.

I don;t think you can really get it wrong (unless you turn up, stay for hours, drink all their coffee and food, leave a mess and swan off again)

pmsl MFAC! I thought exactly the same thing but couldn;t think of quite how to put it but Chances are they spend a lot of time looking at it and wondering WTAF they've done and not thinking 'flesh of my flesh' sums it up pretty well in my case.

I wasn't actually in this country at the time so I didn't have to deal with people thinking I was madly in love with the alien being that they kept insisting that my child!

Aaww, congratulations to them!!, my dream come true-a baby boy to adopt!! Smile. How about....

'Somewhere Out There A Child Awaits A Home,
Somewhere Out There A Home Awaits A Child,
-Adoption Brings Them Together'

You could maybe put it inside their card or something!.
