Questions for birth child

Our social worker has asked me to ask my DD (aged 8) some questions and to record her answers (in relation to the home study we are doing - stuff about how she feels about the new child coming to join our family).

I must admit feel quite stumped! Anyone else had to do this and care to share what you asked, please?

A million thanks.

Italian

Not in your position but have 9 year old dd.

Are they looking at it from your dds perspective because if they are I know my dd would be asking lots of questions.

She'd want to know daft things such as toys and sharing.
Sleeping arrangements. Although maybe most of these have been done already.

What is your dd mostly looking forward to about having a new sibling?
What would she like to do with her new sibling?
Does she want to do something special to welcome new sibling and what?

Sorry if this is off the mark, but wanted to try Grin

I'm surprised the SW is asking you to ask your dd the questions and not talking to her herself.
When we adopted dd3 birth sister of our other two, our SW had a session with all of us together, we had to play games etc with the girls, it was all recorded ( dreadful )
Sorry, can't help you with what to ask your dd. may be worth talking to the SW to find out more.

morethanpotatoprints fantastic questions, thank you.

Moomoonie I know she will also ask DD questions. I am not sure if this is about finding out what DD thinks or about how me and DD approach the whole thing.

I think I will send half a dozen question and answers and then ask if this is enough, or Oliver like... would you like some more?? Thanks.

How about also:

  • is she worried about anything to do with any new sibling
  • what is she least looking forward to
