Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

Has my life really come to this?

(21 Posts)
It's Saturday night and not only have I been cleaning the toilets, I find myself cleaning the toilets whistling Postman f**king Pat shock
I have teenagers too so also have to listen to 'thats not music, its just noise, in my day we had proper music' type stuff grin
except with ds1 who plays classical piano until I curse Scraibin and Bach.

oh those were the days!
grin
my kids are older now, but instead if power rangers I now sing the theme tune to match of the day ( and yes they are up at 7 on a sunday morning after a late night to see it)

when does it start getting easier????????
could be worse. You could have spent 6 hours holding a screaming 5 yo singing 'yes my name is farking iggle piggle please stop yelling' in increasingly shriekish tones grin
Or, dd's favourite 'toy song'
'the Tower of Power is very Tall
And up at the top is the Key, the Key'

<gibber>

(and why put the key at the bloody top? How are you meant to get in?)

Oh i get the bing bong song stuck in my head
Don't worry. I found myself singing along to all the words to the Bob the Builder version of Mambo Number 5, having forgotten what the original words are...that is when I had a thought like yours, OP...
We banned Barney from our house for that very reason grin

May I just say that 'Fifiiiii and the Floooweeerrtots, Fifiiiii forget me nooot' (and repeat til ears bleeding) is pretty bloody crap, particularly when you are desperate for sleep.
I can't stand the cooks either. But the tune I'm stuck with is 'Happy happy happy happy birthday to you, have a happy day today..." Argh.

Timmy is known as "maaaah" in our house. dd2 is only 2. As soon as I try and go on the laptop she clings to my legs and whinges "maaaah maaaah" meaning she wants to go on the CBeebies website so we can be tormented by his theme tune.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
